Actually I was having a counter-argument to your counter-argument to Mav's thoughts and opinions  :P

Anyway it's all good and fun sports talk & opinions, and nothing to be taken too seriously.  I really do love the high scoring games, the deep shots and the incredible athletes that play the game.

I mean, it certainly helped; he only got suspended for a year and half for gambling instead of getting thrown out of the league altogether.

The oxidation that comes into contact could result in a reaction emitted by certain substances that produces a black colored film;  a product that is finalized as tarnished.  Tarnished.

But we should look away and pretend like nothing ever happendt.  So that nothing ever happendt.  ;)

There were also the rumors that Michael Jordan's dad was killed as payback for Michael's gambling debts. I used to accept that as fact, although I've seen subsequent reporting that strongly discounts it. 

I don't know if you can tarnish Jordan's career, or if we're even looking the other way. The dude is a competition junkie, and there are tons of anecdotes from golf courses, casinos, and informal practices of Jordan making high stakes bets with anyone who will take them. It's not exactly an admirable quality, but it does explain his incredible in-game performances, and that's what he's remembered for. 

Not sure if people really looked the other way on Jordan's Hall of Fame induction speech, where he went off on some bitter and unnecessary flexes on anyone who ever doubted him. I recall the reaction as mostly:  Whoa. That's what's on your mind when you're receiving the game's highest honor?

Oh yea, if anything about Jordan's post-career ventures has proven, it's that he's a legitimate a$$h@!e who can't let any slight go, no matter how imagined or insignificant. It's part of what makes him the GOAT.

Thrust into the limelight at 17, had arguably the most expectations placed on him (maybe Wemby can make that claim now) and has lived up to, and maybe even exceeded, the hype. Seems to be a loving father and a loving, faithful husband. Gives back to the communities in which he lives and always gives back to Akron/Cleveland, even when he's not there. Seems to be a great role model. His biggest misstep is 'The Decision' and not sure who the driving force was for that. LeBron seems to be a great guy. I really hope we never hear stories that destroy his image.

I think Lebron should  be appreciated for having some perspective.  But he comes off  just as egotistical as MJ.  Jordan was cutthroat as a competitor and had a gambling issue. And yes his HoF speech came off as petty. Otherwise I’d say Jordan was every bit as impressive considering the mania he dealt with in his early twenties. No legal issues or controversy really followed him. He was very careful not to tarnish the  Air Jordan brand he was building.
