Wrong forum. What does this have to do with the playoff format?
NFL going hard vs the CFP
I hope the CFP outdraws the NFL and the NFL hurts their viewership numbers because of this. I know it's unlikely, but I'd enjoy the schadenfreude. This makes no sense to me. I understand the NFL wants to be #1, and they are, but I would think they'd want the entire country watching these games where the future stars and top draft picks are playing on the biggest stage possible. I dont see how taking viewership away from the CFP helps the NFL
Same!!!I hope the CFP outdraws the NFL and the NFL hurts their viewership numbers because of this. I know it's unlikely, but I'd enjoy the schadenfreude.
It's so short sighted. Line them up so people can watch both and you bet they will. I'm picking a playoff game of any sort over a regular season game not involving my team. This makes no sense to me. I understand the NFL wants to be #1, and they are, but I would think they'd want the entire country watching these games where the future stars and top draft picks are playing on the biggest stage possible. That is where the big money is. A bad playoff game has less volatility than a poor/marginal regular season game.I guess Turner had money to burn after losing the NBA. I think ESPN always does a great job with the production part of the CFP, hopefully Turner is up to the task (and we don't get Charles Barkley breaking down games).
Odd to me that Turner doesn't air any regular season college football or college basketball games, but airs postseason games.
