It's the Big 12 Conference.

I'm only guessing, but sounds like the sponsor can change that to "Dr.Pepper Big 12" or "Dr.Pepper Big 16 Conference".  They'd have the logo on all football fields/hardwood courts too.  

I'm just guessing.  

In fact, in the future we might see "Apple B1G Conference" and "Amazon SEC Conference" and "myspace Pac 2 conference" lol

I mean what is their brand now anyway - they lost all the big name schools. Now it's the leftovers plus other leftovers conference. Maybe they should be sponsored by Tupperware - keep your leftovers fresh lol

 
I would think there would need to be another team joining with them if they left the SEC?  I wouldn't know who that would be in that area of the country.  Just like FSU, you wouldn't want them to be a lone outpost which made the discussion also turn to Miami and possibly Clemson.

 
I would not be surprised. AAU school in Texas and TAMU gets rid of Texas. I am not sure TAMU would pay for itself like ND would. Does the SEC not have a GOR?

I suspect re-alignment will be fairly quite until it comes time to renew the media rights deal. If these rumors are true, that gives the BigTen plenty of time to find a second team to pair up with aTm to keep the conference balanced. We all know ND is choice 1, but if the rumors are true, I could see trying to court Missouri or maybe Okie Lite to join with them.

I'd rather have Mizzou.  I think their local and state culture, with the exception of Springfield/Branson is a better fit in the Big Ten anyway.

In possibly coincidental timing, next Thursday is an important deadline. Schools in the ACC must give the conference a one-year notice before participating in athletics in another league the following academic year. The annual deadline for such a notice is Aug. 15. It has been long believed that FSU is not planning on giving notice this August.
