What kind of projects can you do around your house?

Chamberlain smart garage door opener with myQ app.

Anybody have experiences with either the opener or the app?

My older 3/4HP Craftsman belt drive opener just stopped working. No noises, no flashing lights, nothing, just stopped halfway on a close cycle. Dead. Kaput.  I’m not concerned about installing the replacement. Being delivered by Amazon today because neither Lowes or Home Depot had one available any sooner. I’ve always had Craftsman openers but since they’re really not a thing anymore, was wondering about people’s experiences with Chamberlains or the myQ app.
We've had one for a few years now. Works fine - it's a garage door opener. I do like the feature that sets a time at night where it will close the garage if it's open. It's nice in case you forget.

Yes, that does sound like a handy feature. Especially when it’s 11pm and the wife asks if I closed the door. Now it will already be closed, and if not, I can check it and close it without getting up. I’m all about energy conservation…my energy

Got the old one down, assembled and put the new one up this evening. Just have the wall control and safety sensors to finish up tomorrow…and get the vehicle remotes reprogrammed for it. Hopefully there’s no compatibility issues with our vehicles.

Have the MyQ sensor and it works great.  Before buying that I had planned on getting a “smart” garage door opener.  Saved me a few hundred bucks by doing MyQ.   Haven’t had any issues or battery concerns in the roughly two years I’ve had it and it works great.

The one complaint I have about it is it seems to be overly-touchy on the safety sensor that makes it go back open when it's trying to close.  Seems like if it's really hot or really cold such that the track might get slightly out of alignment it doesn't like that and has a terrible time closing.  I haven't dug the manual out to see if there's a way to adjust the sensitivity yet.

Yeah I’ve run into that before, where the “force” setting is too sensitive. I’m pretty sure that can be adjusted to where every little hiccup won’t stop/reverse it. I just don’t recall how to do it.

How often do you blokes leave your garage door open??  My gosh.
In the summer, it gets brutal hot in the garage. Usually will leave the door open about a foot until late evening. But not all night….wouldn’t want any punk kids or firemen trying to crawl under it.

I moved into a new house and of course my fiance didnt like the light fixture.  So I've swapped out two chandeliers and 4 ceiling fixtures.  I tried my hand at building a smokeless fire pit.  Works ok.  Need to build a cornhole set next.  Just got my tools organized in the garage.  Moving sucks

Always hire movers!

I sort of have a pact with my friends...we all got one move after college, where we would help, that was it.
