I would have to imagine the Trump campaign hopes for this to occur.   I personally believe she was the worst candidate the Dems could have chosen.   But it would look terrible to bypass the VP woman of color.

I don't think she was the worst, but I do think there are much stronger candidates. 

That being said, her job is to be more appealing than Trump, a toxic sludge tumor secreting cancerous ooze. She's not going to win over Trump voters, but she can galvanize Democrats in a way that can recreate a lot of elections the post-Dobbs world.

 
My prediction: Kamala gets a boost in the polls now, but her numbers fade the more she talks. 

I hope I'm wrong, but I have absolutely no faith in the incompetent Dems.

I think she gets a HUGE boost at the start and it tapers off but it will be enough.  I think, just from hearing her today, that she seems way more confident, way more free, like she is not looking over her shoulder, that is a powerful feeling.

Now, what needs to happen is that "Joe was totally fine 5 weeks ago but now his brain is bad" D's need to put their dongs back in their shorts and GET UNIFIED right now, period.  They got what they wanted, they forced the president with the MOST VOTES ever to quit, now they need to shut the f#&% up and get together.

I agree.  I haven’t really followed things today, is there inklings that the dems aren’t unified?  I don’t really care about the whiny fanatics that are always unhappy, I’m talking the dems that are actually in charge.

Of what I’ve seen, most every elected Dem has endorsed her, and she’s seen record breaking campaign contributions at the grassroots level.

Seems about as unified as possible for the time being.

She isn't a felon, so that's a plus.

She's never lost a case where she was accused of sexually assaulting someone, so that's a plus.

She's never been credibly associated with a pedophile, so that's a plus.

Sure seems like it...hopefully the idiot hardcore D's that forced JB to quit can hold it together for a few months...but I am sure they will turn on her once she is elected.

And what is your personal belief about the Repubs candidate? Isn’t the bigger issue here which one of them is better suited to be the next President? I mean it’s been a minute since we’ve been offered one good choice let alone two. And please don’t go on a tangent about Desantis or some other person that has zero chance of winning. The winner of this election will be Harris or Trump.  Which one of these two is the better choice for the country?

You are free to vote however you wish. It was a simple question with simple but precise framing. Fact- the winner of this election will be Harris or Trump. I simply asked you, between these two choices, who you felt was better. Extremely simple, right? …..and you failed to provide an answer. I am not surprised.
