No kidding.Nobody cares about minor recruiting violations. Especially for a 5-7 team.
But the portal’s not open. At least that’s what I read-no actual knowledge of it myself. The enroll by date is set by each school. As long as you can get there by the last day to register for classes, you're good. The big variable is schools on a quarters system instead of semesters.
There were several reports that he entered the portal on August 6.
I don’t think we did anything wrong. But no one understands it, so.No kidding.
People need to settle down. Nothing bad is going to happen.

He was THE BEST!To quote Jerry Tarkanian, "when the NCAA is mad at Kentucky, they put Cleveland State on probation". So, does the NCAA still get mad, & where is 2024 NU on this scale?
On a serious note, no way this player doesn't redshirt.
I agree. None of the media I've seen has commented on that. All they've said is that he might not be eligible until the portal *actually* opens in December.
Unless "entered the portal" is sloppy phrasing for "decided to transfer".
Is there even anything that requires a transfer student to enter their name into the portal? Can't they still do it the old-fashioned way?
Contact Your Current School’s Compliance Officer: If you wish to leave your current four-year school as a DI/DII student-athlete and transfer to another four-year institution, you must complete the Notification of Transfer process and have your name added to the NCAA Transfer Portal by your school’s Compliance Officer.
Isn't that ONLY if they want to be recruited by other schools? If they want to do their own leg work and walk on at a school then they don't need to enter the portal at all.

I guess my point was. They don't actually need to enter the portal at all. All of this documentation is if they want to enter the portal. If he already knew that he didn't want to be recruited and was already planning on coming to Nebraska as a walk on. Then why go through the portal process at all?I don't see anything in there about that.
And you can enter the portal with a "Do Not Contact" flag so that everyone won't bother you. That would leave you to do it yourself.
