What did we learn - BYE WEEK EDITION

Alabama isn’t a Top 5 team. Maybe not even Top 10.

Iowa and Wisconsin look pretty good, but teams seem to be changing week to week this year. Great one week, weak the next.

The most shocking thing this year had been Colorado School of Mines dropped a conference game and nearly lost another.

The Oregon Duck is my spirit animal

The Nebraska Ohio State game has new interest in me because of Steohanie Otey

Ole Miss had a pretty solid Nebraska impersonation in overtime by going backwards, but then nailed a 57 yard field goals which is un-Nebraska like. They then gave up the 25 yard TD on one play which totally is.

I learned Brent Venables should have stayed a D coordinator, and is going to make OU fire another guy who used to be good for them. That is Nebraska like as well.  They are atrocious on offense.

OU forgot how to play offense.

USC got jobbed on some bad no calls.  Welcome to the B1G.

OSU clock management was brutal. They could have easily gotten into FG range to win.  I may have to visit their boards for the epic meltdown.

Just when you think Ole Miss is legit, nope.

Row the boat?

I learned the teams we have to play, starting with Indiana, are going to be tough. Despite OSU’s loss, they’re too much for us.

UCLA may be the easiest left on the schedule, but they if they have a clump of good moments while we have bad moments…not a gimme win.

USC, despite its slide, is no slouch.

Iowa and Wisconsin will require strong 60 minute efforts each game.

We need to get Indiana next weekend.

Can Colorado pull this upset off? We’ll learn soon if their only loss is Nebraska and they get ranked above us.

None of the games remaining are for sure.  We need to find a way to be consistent all 4 quarters of a game.   If/when we get a big lead we don't just sit on it but put in the dagger.

Florida went "full Nebraska" in OT.

Incomplete pass

False start

Complete pass for a loss of 5 yards

Complete pass for 6 yards

Missed 47 yard FG

Then gave up a TD in 5 plays on D.

Disappointing.  Gotta just keep winning.  Even at 5-1 in the "lower" tier.  beating Indy would be huge.  Respect is earned, not given.  Day by day....

To be honest.  In the last few years we just celebrated not losing on bye week.  Did anyone say that?  I don't think so?  I think we are getting better, but we are not there yet.
