Should we fire Satterfield??

I'm not talking about what other teams have; I'm talking about what WE have. Not much. He's doing all he can do with the cards he's been dealt. I highly doubt we'd have a winning record if he wasn't our QB.
We don’t know who would have been taking the snaps were he not here, could have been somebody worse. But it’s silly to speculate that we automatically would have been so much worse without him here. Our O line is improved and doing well enough for any good QB to be finding success. Could we have gotten a good QB here?  Again, can’t know. We got Dylan. He’s learning. We are learning.  We are 5-3 with Dylan. He’s not doing anything transcendent to have us there. I think there are a lot of QB options in the country that could have had us at the same 5-3.  I think there are a lot of them that could have had us at 7-1. Glad Dylan is here. Wish he had 2 years under his belt.

We have no offensive identity,

What would you say Ohio State's offensive identity is?

More often than not we end up in tough 3rd down situations due to the screens and other senseless calls. His obsession with the short passing game is mind-boggling. It doesn't work yet he'll continue to force it.

It has been brough up over an over again that we rarely get receivers open down the filed and, when we do, we struggle to connect with them.

So if you don't have much of a deep passing game, seems like all you're left with is the short passing game.  So if you don't want to do that either....

To the guys debating if we are better or worse this year with Raiola. Per the numbers we are pretty much exactly the same scoring offense as last year if not a little worse. Which you will have some tough spots with a freshman but I sure hoped with a 5 star and bunch new skill players we would be better. I mean last year we thought was rock bottom. But with Satterfield I don’t think things ever take off to a top 15 offense. Per history we won’t ever be top 40-50 with Satt.

To the last few posts about play calling. I think execution and play calling have both been bad at times compounding things to look even worse. Sometimes Satt is his usual dips#!t self. Then other times guys are open downfield and Raiola misses them. So yes guys are getting open but seems Raiola is misfiring when they are. Also maybe they are open for college standards but Dylan is not firing away because they are not wide open like high school. Sometimes receivers gotta win the ball. Dylan will figure it out he is young.

You guys crapping on Satt and now bringing Raiola into it?  WTH is wrong with you.

By keeping score, the mutiny that wants Satt fired also b!^@hes about the receivers, the running backs, the lineman, occasionally Fidone, and now it's all the way down to Raiola...   Good grief

I hope yall say something nice when plays are working.  I hope you give credit to Satt and the players you keep dumping on.  I hope you do this, but I doubt it.

My big question…is Carter Nelson red shirting? Blows my mind he’s not being used! I would have fed him and Fidone the ball yesterday.
A huge mismatch in the middle of the field.

Isn’t Nelson like 6 ft 6?
should have sent him over the top at the goal line…ya know, being he’s a record breaking high jumper on top of being insanely tall.

Slants, ins and outs are nearly non existent in this passing offense.  The gripe isn’t we don’t want a short game, the gripe is we are completely incapable of blocking with our wide outs and TEs out in the flats yet we keep calling screen designs that end up failing nearly 100% of the time.

I havnt seen one post crapping on Raiola. I have seen a few frank and honest posts about some of his struggles lately vs conference opponents. But it’s just reality of things he needs to improve on as a freshman. Do you have an example of anyone being malicious and attacking Raiola?

We literally completed at least two of those this past game.

He was apparently in on three snaps yesterday.  He's never played a lot of snaps but earlier in the year they were almost always running plays designed for him when he was in.  Not so much the last game or two.

Great, 2 of them. What we have on screen completions for zero to negative yards, 8-10?

I mean ... first, you said non existent.  And now you ... what... just try to act like you weren't completely wrong?  Or massively exaggerating?

Next, just because we aren't completing them doesn't mean those routes aren't in the offense.  The QB actually has to decide to throw those routes.  As has been noted for awhile, Raiola often tries to push the ball down the field, ignoring the short routes.  I was going to post some screen grabs of this but the video quality on the What does the film say twitter posts is very poor.  And the game isn't available on BTN+ yet.

There was an adverb in my post, the word you seemed to miss in my post is “nearly”.  Go ahead, you can go back and re-read it, or not, don’t really care.

you said I was blind a month ago for saying we don’t do enough passing concepts in the 8-12 yard range.  You’ve been a satt apologist for weeks now insisting it’s more of the qb fault. Stay on your soap box, id say about 95% of the fan base doesn’t agree with you but keep on keeping on man!

I’ve been bagging on satt cause he deserves the backfire. However, I gave him massive props with the scoring drive yesterday and play call on the 2 pt conversion, I said in all caps way to make me proud.

we’re spending 2.2 mil on a coordinator and co coordinator that has put up 14 points a game our last 4 games.  It’s easy to blame players for not making a certain play. When we continually bash our head against the wall trying to do something we are simply not capable of, it’s not a player issue, it’s a coaching issue
