I have constantly stated that he is due mistakes for playing the hardest position in sports as a true freshmen at a P4 school.
I believe the coaching staff has put him in a position to fail vs a position to succeed. DR would have been much better off sitting this year and learning like Arch did. And some of that blame is on Dylan for making it known that his commitment relies on him given the chance to play early.
Since he is playing, the coaching staff needed to dumb down the offense in terms of choices for each play, allow some quick outs and quick slants, and more RB screens vs TE/WR screens. And for gosh sakes, some outside the guard run plays.
Get Dylan more hot read options in plays that receivers and QB and can in route check to va having Dylan check in and out of plays as a true freshmen. Keep the play and check out of a certain route and into a different one for a single receiver based on where the blitz is coming from.
It’s bad coaching but Dylan has also accepted the big boy money so he needs to deal with criticism like a big boy too.
