Should we fire Satterfield??

Firing a bunch of coaches and starting over for year 3 might work, but I think we can admit it's not a great sign overall for Rhule's tenure. Coaches who make it traditionally make steady forward progess and don't have to hit the reset button after two years.  They don't have to go searching for answers, and bring in eyes on the program to tell them what to do.

At this point, I will be fairly surprised if this turns around to end in 10 win Nebraska teams under Matt Rhule.

Sure hope you're proven wrong, but I can't disagree with your logic.

Of course we'd love immediate success- but it wasnt too long ago that jim harbaugh made some staff and philosophy changes and it resulted in a natty.  Do i think matt rhule is on jim harbaughs level? absolutely not- however, id rather see us make changes and shake up whats clearly not working early instead of watching ineptitude for 4 years prior to any changes like we experienced with frosty

Climbing up the ladder bringing down boxes of decorations.  Later I'll be putting empty ones back up in the garage. In between I'll enjoying some football while it snows outside.

In the evening I am heading to Nakatomi Plaza for the annual Christmas party.
Good luck with the decorations!  and a xmas party in early november? hot damn, what has society come to

I'm not saying we'd win a Natty, but Satt has 8 years as an OC as a track record that includes 3 schools.....His time at Baylor as TE coach was horrible....7 catches, less than 40 yards and 0 TD's.....Dude is sub par at best.  It's not going to change.  We have a potential NFL QB on this roster.  Do you honestly think Dom Raiola looks at this O and says "This offensive is making Dylan look like a champ or a chump".....One guy doesn't make a team, BUT this is a  guy with NFL  potential that "should" enable us to go bowling year 1..."Should" evolve and not devolve. "Should" be the center piece for recruiting OL and skill guys....But he looks pedestrian 9 games into the season.

Harbaugh took a 5-7 team to 10-3 in his first year and a bowl win. IU is 9-0 with a 1st year head coach.

Rhule is an extremely loyal dude, and I’m sure he has love for Satt, but if your team has the 126th passing attack and 46th ranked rushing attack; then goes and gets a 5 star QB and only improves to 101st and your run game drops to 100th, it’s probably time for a change mid season.

We are only at 95 for yards a game, 117th for average yards a play and 106th for points a game.

I know this is supposed to be husker related, but it is really getting old watching “fans” throw crap on the field game after game. I know we would never do that (and yes I remember the oranges), but it’s happening in almost every big game now.

I say enforce a penalty on the home team for this. You’d have to think that would slow it down? Maybe I’m wrong.

So, he kind of has been "fired", right?  It is just not official yet but clearly he knows he is going to be the first sacrifice so that Rhule can get a little heat off of himself.

I read at TCU that Dana was watching opposing defenses and showed how to better attack them.  I'd think this could be very beneficial for Satt.  Kind of like if you run and get yardage to get to 1st and goal, don't throw 3 passes and get sacked for a 15 yard loss on the 4th.....Simple things..Also, "I've watched your screen game and it's well, steamed dog s@#t.  Just stop running those"....  I'd also probably ask if he planned on leaving any plants or other office things when he gets fired.

Rhule touched on it in the presser, but he said maybe they were trying to do too much, & DH was looking to condense the playbook down to what they do well.  That could definitely explain why a QB who looked poised early and knew where his checkdowns were early started to be late on everything.  The more you run, the more your passing game starts to be primary read or dependent.

This is funny when half the fans were saying the issue with the offense was everyone knew what plays we were gonna run.

I will say the predictability ticked way up in the red zone, and Rhule did talk about Holgorsen being a good red zone schemer/playcaller. I cannot take any more 2nd and goal fades to Neyor, it has worked 1 time all year and I think we've run at least 6. And teams are now ready for the jet sweep, which was the only other interesting red zone play I can recall.

Outside the red zone, most poorly executed plays make it look like the defense knew what was coming. Instead of the OSU DB who made the game-sealing INT chirping about us running "old routes," I would have liked to hear from the backside OSU CB who was in position to easily give up the first down if we didn't throw it to the wrong guy. Whittling down the playbook should help, as should a different mindset from the OC.

Red zone has been the most baffling because they had some unique effective plays last year and this year but this year especially they seem to not use them as much. The fades are definitely an issue. Idk if they are hitting them in practice or why they keep trying them in game when we can't complete them. I do get it on some level because on paper we should be able to make them work but they haven't been so probably not smart to keep trying them.
