Who's Leaving? 2024/25 version

Some parents are dellusional.  I remember some wanting to be volunteer coaches and my dad was like thanks but no thanks.  The stereotypical dads trying to live through their sons.  I wasn't even allowed to play football until I got to HS.
In all my time coaching I have "let" 4 dad coaches on my staff (ha).

1 was amazing

1 was great

2 ruined it to the point that I took a new coaching gig the next season just to get away from them.

I coached for a few years. Parents can be idiots. I coached track for years. One parent was pissed his son didn’t make the 4x100 team. So we did a run off. 8 runners. By the time everyone crossed the finish line his so. Looked like he was running backwards. Never heard a peep again.

Sounds familiar.   I have had 7 over the years.  I didn't lay ground rules good enough with the first 3.  2 of them ended up being a PIA.  The last 4 were all good because they came on staff with very clear expectations.  It really helped we won a lot of games the last 3 years though.

I remember my dad hiring 2.  The first was at his first HC job and he hired a guy who's son was a really good RB.  Believe he then got tuition assistance by his dad being on staff (Catholic school).  He stayed on for years after tho and was a good coach.  The second was a guy at my HS who had like 6 sons but that was during my coaching days.  He was a good guy but he was just there to help because his sons although good at football all had emotional problems

THAT!!!

Not having the clear expectations, that was my problem.  I did a bad job with that.

Honestly, most "dad" coaches are great but one bad one can just ruin everything!

There’s a joke here somewhere about running straight into the portal and not being able to avoid it.
Dang it, I was just going to post something like this!!

His trouble finding holes and all.  Hmmmm....slamming his guy into the back of the thigh repeatedly??

Was Dante mad Rahmir was getting practice snaps for his final game?

Dante was a good short yardage back.  We'll need another bruiser.
