I’m just joining this conversation, and I don’t give a crap about hockey.  But if Trump were to wage war on Canada, I’m rooting for Canada and NATO.  So I guess it’s not too hard to assume some folks would be okay with Canada winning a hockey game.

I was sort of hoping, since I bet on Canada (due to better odds and the thought that home ice may swing it). USA was the slight favorite. I lost but we won.

 
If you have a spare hour or so, pull up "Hockey Brawls" on YouTube. It's pretty entertaining stuff.

The best are the puck drop brawls, where the carry over from the last game is so intense that nobody has any intention of playing until the entire team throws down.

This is NY vs. NJ, but I could swear there's a better one of the Red Wings vs. Avalanche.

The problem is that the MAGA cosplayers think they're the heroes in this story. But when you really look at it, they're not the Rebel Alliance -- they're the Empire. They're not the Fellowship of the Ring — they're the Orcs. They're not the brave soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy — they're literally the Nazis. 

So yes, I welcome my maple-infused brothers in the fight for the real America. 

Since you will pretend you were on the right side in a few years, why not join us now, when it counts?

Isn't that the brawl that started the puck drop brawl the next season? I've watched that Red Wings/Avs puck drop brawl several times over the years, but it seems to have disappeared from YouTube.
