Keep this topic in mind until after the 2026 Congressional elections.   I expect nothing from the cowardly GOP Senators and Congressmen/women.

Have you had enough of Trump yet?  After just 30 days, Trump has alienated ALL of our friends and with the recent vote in the UN, he has sided with our enemies.   Trump voters, including @Archy1221 please explain this betrayal.   Maybe you state something lame like : "I voted against Trump before I voted for Trump" or some other crazy excuse.  If Trump had a great domestic policy, which he doesn't,  this act alone is worthy of his removal from office.

Obviously, the do nothing GOP senate and House will hide behind some lame excuse and do nothing.   But in 2 years there will be elections.    So my poll question is:  Will Trump be impeached a 3rd time and will he finally be removed from office?   Will the few reasonable GOPers (can you find any?) push for Trump to be removed for Amendment 25 reasons.

I'll use this post as the 'kick-off' post for the thread.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!! - “The Greatest Generation” - our Fathers, Grandfathers, Brothers, Uncles bravely marched to war to fight the Nazis in the 1930’s to preserve AMERICAN and WORLD DEMOCRACY for generations to come. What SHAME they would feel knowing you, their progeny are supporting/defending this dangerous, new generation of Nazis led by a Criminal Traitor who crowned himself King and his billionaire cronies who would rob our American Democracy as they rob and pillage our health care, medical research,SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Education, CDC, NIH, parks, public media, $ for ufeeding the hungry and poor, worldwide, etc, to enrich themselves as they gut Consumer, Food, safety, product protections, Civil Rights voting rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights. They have set criminals free from jails! People and Children will die YOU FOOLS-ALLOWED THESE IGNORANT BUFFOONS TO TAKE OVER OUR COUNTRY AND WILL ONLY REALIZE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WHEN YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN ARE ADVERSELY AFFECTED as we all will be. They installed amateurs, perverts and criminals as Cabinet members. Call your Senators and Congressional Reps TODAY and demand IMPEACHMENT!

1)  you asked for someone to comment and then immediately tried to say what the comment will be.  Not a great way to promote discussion

2). I’ve asked you 3 direct questions in the past couple of weeks and not a peep out of you on them so I think I’ll pass on yours.  If you want discussion, it goes both ways.

I remember why I had you on ignore.   Anyone who is a constant apologist for Trump isn't worth having a discussion with or worth my limited time on HB.  I'm not sure how others have the patience to deal with your posts.

Let's see if you come up with an intelligent defense of Trump's UN vote.

Oh, got it.  You want an answer to questions you pose, and when someone points out you ignore other people’s questions your answer is to pout and take your ball and go home.

you are right, you aren’t worth wasting time on.  Enjoy your echo chamber

Also the funny thing is you thought it was worth having a discussion until it was pointed out to you that you ignored direct questions.   Then all of a sudden it wasn’t worth it 😂

Key Uses of the 25th Amendment:

1. Section 1 – Presidential Succession

  • Used when Vice President Gerald Ford became President after Richard Nixon resigned due to the Watergate scandal in 1974.

2. Section 2 – Filling a Vice Presidential Vacancy

  • 1973: Gerald Ford was nominated and confirmed as Vice President after Spiro Agnew resigned due to corruption charges.
  • 1974: Nelson Rockefeller was nominated and confirmed as Vice President after Ford became President.

3. Section 3 – Temporary Transfer of Power (Presidential Incapacity)

  • 1985: Ronald Reagan briefly transferred power to Vice President George H.W. Bush while undergoing surgery.
  • 2002 & 2007: George W. Bush temporarily transferred power to Vice President d!(k Cheney while undergoing colonoscopies.
  • 2021: Joe Biden transferred power to Vice President Kamala Harris for about 85 minutes during a medical procedure, making her the first woman to hold presidential power, even temporarily.

4. Section 4 – Involuntary Removal of the President

  • This section, which allows the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the President unfit, has never been formally used.
  • It was discussed after Ronald Reagan’s presidency (due to concerns about his mental fitness) and after the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, when some officials considered removing Donald Trump, but it was never invoked.

I guess I don't see the 25th being used.  I think there is a fear of using it and creating this slippery slope of the power of the 25th.  But that is just me.

Impeachment, I don't think so.  As much as I hate russia I can't imagine that siding with them is impeachment worthy in a legal sense.  But again, I am not sure.

I could see him just having health issues and though.  I am half his age and I am worn out by the end of my day (Now, I know what you are thinking "But Teach, you are a hero and you do the work of hero", true, and thank you, but still, I am worn out, I don't know how these old a$$ dudes do it, I am guessing a cocktail of drugs.

10 years ago - I was the 'archy' on HB.  I didn't pout, take my ball home & I didn't live in an echo chamber.  I listened, considered, and looked at facts.  I changed my mind on a lot of things.  I was proud and arrogant and thought I knew what was right as a Rush, Hannity, Levan, Beck tea party activist.  However, due to other things in my life, I learned that I needed to be more humble and realized "I can be wrong."  Which meant I needed to be open to more voices than just the hard right.  America is America because there are good voices on the left and on the right.  When we cut off one side, we become far less.   I would say I am moderate to slightly right of moderate.  I learned to once again appreciate the voices of my youth - Hubert Humphrey,  Robert Kennedy and the heart of compassion towards others.  While also maintaining the Reagan conservative principles of smaller efficient govt, peace through strength and basic compassion.

Trump is the opposite of Reagan.   He isn't conservative.  His cuts have no humanitarian regard (humanitarianism is what set the USA apart from all other countries).  His petty, childish resentment of Pres Z of Ukraine (remember his PERFECT aka NARCISTIC phone call that led to his 1st impeachment ) is moving the USA into our enemy's camp.  The guy is a totally despicable, self-centered, narcistic person and an even worse president because of his mental issues.

To give a basic answer on some of your questions:

I'm ok with needed cuts for efficiency, I'm ok with stronger borders,  I'm ok with asking Europe to do their fair share.  I am not OK with making cuts that destroy 80 years of good will built up through our humanitarian outreaches (yes remove the funds for Transgender education in some far away country or other such "WOKE" programs), I'm not OK with deporting illegals who have now made a real life here in the USA - deport the criminals and find a path to citizenship for those contributing to our society,  I'm not ok with anyone who sides with our enemies and abandon's our friends.   Trump has betrayed our values.  He isn't fit to be president.

You might consider the walls (echo chamber) you are surrounded by.

if jan. 6 wasn't enough to get impeached then no one will ever be impeached.
Unfortunately you may be right.   Of course there are those on this board and of course in the GOP who think it was just a civil discourse.

My only hope, is that Trump so oversteps his 'mandate'(which there was none) that the Dems somehow overwhelmingly win the House and the Senate and then with a few remaining 'principled' senators (who may just get tired of the guy's act) impeach him. Long shot I know.

Of course, then we would end up with his disciple - JD.    2028 may be our only 'impeachment' option.  It will be a long 4 years.

Yep. Just like America lost the battle against guns when nothing was done after Sandy Hook.
Common Denominator:  GOP Senators who have no courage.  Fearful of the NRA and of Trump.

Yep. Trump did everything a U.S. President could do to disqualify himself, and won reelection by an even larger margin. All normal rules are out the window. An impeachment attempt by the Dems, however well reasoned, would only strengthen MAGA resolve. Even if you could force Trump out for pure dementia, you'd be left with President Vance and a fresh bag of trouble.

And yet.......there's a tiny sliver emerging. I don't think most Republicans and most Americans are comfortable with the capitulation to Russia and Putin, the abandoning of historic allies, and America ceding its exceptionalism on the global stage. I don't see it ending Trump's term, but it could provide that little bit of free space where the GOP and Fox News talking heads could openly question the President King for making major decisions that go against the grain of their own voters. I think the same people are uncomfortable with Elon Musk assuming vastly more power than any elected Republican.

Republicans need to stand up. So do Democrats. As the midterms approach we need new faces and better candidates. Don't even bother with impeachment. Just start turning the narrative.

All good points.
