why haven't any rumors floated about any other top college programs wanting his services?

and if no one else wants him (should we let him go) THEN WHY IN THE HELL WOULD WE WANT TO KEEP HIM??

Because, the people who think he's a great coach can be counted on one hand :)

Callahan will have no problem finding a job if he gets fired, but it will most likely be in the NFL as a coordinator.

He's a big boy. I think he can take care of himself.

I don't feel sorry for him. He knows the way college football works.

Are you a little worried that Callahan will be here next year?

The only way he gets a job is from an old friend. He tried getting NFL jobs back in 2005 but nobody wanted him.
Proof?
It was reported on a local radio station last week. Go look for the podcasts yourself.
Highly doubt that one. Probably the same radio station that reported Solich was coming back as the running backs coach and that McBride was taking over as interim head coach.

I've heard that Callahan's agent contacted the Bears on his behalf, when they hadn't yet extended Lovie Smith after the Super Bowl last year...needless to say, they were not interested.

Billy C will have no problem finding a gig as an NFL assistant, but I don't see him being a head coach anywhere for a very, very long time.
