Looking back, a subscription ad-free experience was promised as far back as September of 2019, as well as a constant tug-of-war between "this site is unusable", "we have a new agency and i will ask them to fix that", and "things aren't sustainable financially at this rate"
At this point, switching off Invision BBS might be the only glimmer of a hope that folks have towards a pleasant browsing experience, although it might also come with the loss of rep points and other staple features.
