Economy

I think there’s probably no one who is more pissed about the economy than JPow. Think about it.

He actually threaded the needle by being absolutely outstanding at his job and achieved the mythical soft landing economists said was the best case scenario given where the economy had been the past couple of years…

and that an economic terrorist rolled up with a bunch of dumbass tariffs, harmful immigration policies and an eye on a trade war with China and f#&%ed the whole thing up.

How could you not be furious? Of all the people who give Trump undue credit as some business-savvy magic panacea for the economy, Powell is not among them. He fully realizes how stupid Trump’s shtick is.

"On Friday morning, West Coast port officials told CNN about a startling sight: Not a single cargo vessel had left China with goods for the two major West Coast ports in the past 12 hours. That hasn’t happened since the pandemic."

"Six days ago, 41 vessels were scheduled to depart China for the San Pedro Bay Complex, which encompasses both the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach in California. On Friday, it was zero."

What actual impact do corporations have on housing prices? It can't be much.

The reality is that Democrats need to embrace zoning reform and just make it easier to build more houses to meet demand. Blue states are already so far behind they face electoral ruination if they don't fix their housing policies soon.

You should ask the people that tried to buy a house during covid how difficult it was to compete with corporations who could out spend a regular joe and pay with cash. Which in turn raises the price on all houses in the area. Who do you think the homeowner will sell to?

And Kamala Harris campained on cutting red tape and building 5,000,000 more units for housing.

I have seen studies that claim quite a bit. It’s even a bigger issue with rental costs. But, I agree with your statement too.
