Economy

Just would like to point out that 4 months ago, we had the best economy in the world.

Moody’s Ratings Service on Friday said it is downgrading the U.S.’s creditworthiness in response to an increase in government debt over the past decade and rising interest payments, in a blow to the Trump administration that could push up borrowing costs.

The downgrade, which puts the U.S. one notch below the highest credit rating, was “driven mainly by increased interest payments on debt, rising entitlement spending, and relatively low revenue generation,” it said.

Moody’s message: The fiscal outlook has not improved since the firm put the federal government on notice in November 2023 that it was at risk of losing its pristine reputation as a borrower.

see that....it is all bidens fault for adding 6 trillion to the debt over his 4 years...and not the current republican budget proposals to add about 4-5 trillion to the debt this year alone.

Yep ….and clearly they don’t see this administration fixing it and possibly even making it worse.

That seems to be the case.   Just making sure the others knew the downgrade didn’t happen because of things that occurred between January and February of ‘25.   The downgrade occurred because of an accumulation of debt over the course of a much longer time and over multiple presidencies.

And yet the rating held until Trump started instituting ridiculous tariffs, pulling back from the international community and proposing historic amounts of additional debt with his big beautiful bill. Both things can be true. Yes, the debt accumulated over multiple presidencies put us on the precipice but none other than Trump policies pushed us over the edge. Any other take is simply partisan bulls#!t.

Might be a little late come Monday...but UNH should (remember, I am wrong almost always) explode this week.

My options on it last week were insane and I have some for this week, so hopefully the rumor that the CFO and CEO of UNH bought like 30 million shares is true.
