OT: 50th Anniversary of Jaw's

F5Tornado

Walk-on
"Honor the Man, Crush the Can." Narragansett Lager, Captain Quint's favorite! "Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our Shark?"

"Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish Ladies..."

I saw it at Indian Hills Theater (I think) when I was passing through Omaha even though we had moved away years before. Back in the days when theaters were nice places to watch movies before the advent of cell phones and inconsiderate a-holes using them.

"We're going to need a bigger boat"

“Here lies the body of Mary Lee; died at the age of a hundred and three. For fifteen years she kept her virginity; not a bad record for this vicinity.”

Oddly enough, IIRC, I too saw Jaws for the first time at Indian Hills theatre in Omaha. We lived in Columbus but I recall going to a few movies at Indian Hills with my parents. That was big time back in the day.

Jaws was great. Scared me to death going into the ocean as a kid. That and my balls froze in that california water. Double whammy.

Shortly after seeing Jaws for the first time I was vacationing at the Jersey shore. After seeing that movie I definitely didn't lollygag getting back to the beach when lifeguards whistled people out because of a possible shark sighting.

I had a whole new level of respect for lifeguards after seeing Jaws.

I remember when I watched that movie for the first time. I haven’t seen any shark movies since then either. 😂 I think we’ve all experienced that fear of jumping off a diving board and thinking you’re jumping into a pool with a shark in it. Swimming as fast as possible to get to the side and out of the water! Open water too.

I think Open Water was scarier but Jaws was a much bigger deal.
