NBA 2024-25

I mean sure you don’t want leaks, but why? Because you’re afraid of a PR nightmare? Like fans starting ‘fire Nico’ chants at every home game for the rest of the season? They should’ve recouped a ton of draft assets and a couple good players. You could’ve sworn every GM you called to secrecy and told them if it gets out…it’s off.

At the end of the day, you had at least the perception of a franchise changing asset, and you gave it up for one first round pick and a guy who’s had his commitment questioned even more than Luka.

Mikail Bridges went 5 first round picks. Just to contrast.

Yeah, the trade itself was indefensible on almost every level according to most every analyst. The Mavs clearly understood the shock factor and went ahead with the Laker's best offer -- the only one they solicited. It's so weird that you gotta presume some backstage drama only a handful of people know about, and a directive that came to Harrison straight from ownership.

Just saying it would be interesting and perhaps likely that the Mavs are more interesting and successful than the Lakers this season. Wondering what our resident Mavs fan thinks about that possibility.

I think they should pay the WNBA players the same that NBA players are paid. It is the same game and both are played by professionals.

They need to open up the checkbooks.

They do. WNBA salaries have hard caps at both ends, ranging from $68k for rookies to $249k for the star players. If you average 6 points a game in the NBA, chance are you're making over $7 million a year. WNBA arenas are selling out and the tickets aren't cheap. Owners have seen the valuation of their teams skyrocket by tens of millions this past year. There's a big new TV contract on the way.

But the NBA makes a lot more money right now. You know that. You know it's both silly and impossible to pay these women like NBA players right now. So why make that stupid post?

Sorry, I just want them to get paid a lot more.
