2025 B1G Football Media Days @ Mandalay Bay

So your mentality is that the only things that count towards 'anything' are national championships and playoff wins 'sort of'
Yeah, pretty much.

Isn't that yours?

I know some schools, Iowa, minny, NW, they are fine with 6 wins and a bowl game.

But real schools want to win it all. Ryan Day was about to get canned and his record at OSU is unreal but if you don't win it all, who cares?

We ran off Bo and he won 9/10 games a year, but, in the end, who cares?

If you are at a real school you should always be trying to win it all and if you are not winning it all and it doesn't look like the coach will get you there, you need to get a new coach.

Nah.

Sorry Ricky Bobby, but wanting to win it all and breaking down whether a coach has won anything aren't really related. Day was feeling a somewhat warm seat, sure, because of his Michigan losses. Why wasn't he fired? Because 11-12+ win seasons, top 5 finishes, top 5 wins, bowl and playoff wins are all something rather than nothing.Yeah, pretty much.

Bo Pelini and TO's first 7 years are pretty much the same.
But so man dorks hated Bo and well...

TO's first 7 years:
65-18-2 (78.3%)
Top 10 finishes - 7
Conference Championships - 2
NY6/BCS equivalent Bowl Appearances - 5
NY6/BCS equivalent Bowl Wins - 2
Top 15 wins: 15
Losses by 3 scores or more: 4

Bo's 7 years:
67-27(71.2%)
Top 10 finishes - 0
Conference Championships - 0
NY6/BCS equivalent Bowl Appearances - 0
NY6/BCS equivalent Bowl Wins - 0
Top 15 wins: 2
Losses by 3 scores or more: 11

The only ways these are the same is that they played the same sport, some of the same opponents, and both had 60 some wins.

Those are pretty similar.

And Day was going to be gone if he didn't win it all last year.
