Emmett Johnson Set to Break Out as Nebraska’s Workhorse in 2025

What is the latest on EJs weight and offseason body preparation? The top RBs in the country last year all averaged at least 212+ lbs. The average weight for the top 12 Big10 RBs is 216. Last I saw EJ is sitting at 200lbs. Yes I understand Holgorsen is going to use EJ in a lot of passing type plays but he’s going to get used up the middle too…

Guys Emmett is at best average, let's hope Rhule and company know something about the other backs we are unaware of. On paper not a good room.
Pretty much every Nebraska running back has had the same evaluation from the esteemed expert NU fan base until they had a breakout game or two. He can be great if the rest of the offense functions correctly. I think we will see vast improvement in that area this year under DH.

Great back make something from nothing, see Barry Sanders with the Lions.

The guys on Early Break this morning were talking about guys that "have something to prove". I thought of EJ. Last year he showed he was better than anyone else in the room. I would love for him to prove he's a guy that makes a big difference in the offense and one that everyone just knows he's going to produce.

I think he can. If he does, it's going to be a good year for the offense.

This makes me wonder about Barthel. Does he not see it in practice or did he just not like Emmett? Kept playing guys that had no problem just running into the backs of the OL.

Is that a show out of Lincoln?
