Who's ready for Banana Balls?

In one of the lighter parts of yesterday's press conference, coach Rhule heaped a lot of praise on to the team's new punter Archie Wilson and his ability to kick "Banana Balls." I took a closer look into Wilson's path to Lincoln and how it could mean good things ahead for NU:

He played Aussie Rules football, not rugby. The two are often mistaken for each other, but they actually don't have that much in common. Those in the eastern states of Australia who prefer rugby generally look down on it and derisively call it "aerial ping pong".

Aussie Rules football requires much more kicking skill than rugby does. Most guys who grow up playing it can drop kick a ball with both feet a reasonable distance; it's the main method of attack, which is why so many of them can do it on the run.
