It is kind of the progression that coaches (that parents, teachers, bosses) all use.Just an observation... Rhule continues to mention the pros a lot in his pressers. I imagine the players like hearing that and being reminded their coach knows what is expected at the next level and can possibly help them get there.
As a Husker fan it's the college game I care about and want these guys to excel at. Most of these players will never make a NFL roster. The jump from high school to college is steep enough that I would think most of these guys know this is the end of their playing days.
I don't know what point I'm trying to make.

Got to sell the dream for a little extra motivation. For future players too.Just an observation... Rhule continues to mention the pros a lot in his pressers. Not sure about all HS"s but I know at mine...we are strongly encourage to cut, in sports that have cuts, all seniors that will not contribute. Guys that will be seniors and basically ride the bench.Got to sell the dream for a little extra motivation. For future players too.
not a direct comparison, but I noticed that in high school baseball, kids that aren't going to play after HS don’t really grow, or even meaningfully, contribute after their junior- and maybe even sophomore-year.
College guys must fight for roster spots now, so that should be all the extra they need.
This is a must have mentality. Especially if were going to continue to progress as a program. We should have more and more guys going pro if we're going to be competing for championships. Regardless if most don't make it, they have to have that goal in mind.Just an observation... Rhule continues to mention the pros a lot in his pressers. I think most of the players going to a D1 school to play football have that goal in mind. Any athletics at that level is a grind. To survive it you have to really love the sport and have a goal to make the next level. My first year was eye opening to say the least. This is a must have mentality.
