Dylan Raiola

Yes it is. I think the under thrown ball today was more of a timing thing. If he would have thrown it sooner, it would have been better.

He has a very strong arm to get the ball to the WR fast. He just hasn’t shown yet that he’s dangerous with the deep ball.
Watch the reply of the throw from the angle in front of the receiver. The ball came out of Dylan’s hand wobbly. I’m not sure why that happened, but it does happen to everyone who plays the position from time to time. I think you are a Chiefs fan too, and you’ve probably noticed this with Mahomes a few times also. Throwing a duck into a strong wind will greatly reduce how far it goes. Had it been a spiral, the throw would have been much closer to being in stride.

I like how you worded the second paragraph and I agree. His biggest fault on the deep ball so far in his young career has usually been throwing it too far out in front. He needs to hit those more often and become dangerous with it as you said.

Dylan has a very strong arm and that's the rub. He can easily overthrow people. I'ld rather have him throw balls guys have a chance at than throwing it 20 yards past them. If you just watch him throw some of the longer balls he not putting a ton of effort into them. Lot harder to make adjustments if your max distance is 70+ yards as opposed to say 50 yards.

I don't want to start any trouble, but if we're talking strictly about the pass itself, TJ Lateef throws a prettier ball.
Dylan had a couple awkward looking ones today, like the hospital ball he threw and Barney dropped. Maybe it was the wind. I really hope we can keep TJ around because he'll be fun, but he's very much a true frosh staring down that first read. Dylan likes to have a long look at his first too, but he knows exactly where the next few reads will be and can check down as quick as a pro QB if needed. TJ looks for his first guy and then plays street ball looking all over and trying to run.

I'm on the older side and TJ Lateef looks a lot like Turner Gill to me. Unlike 1981, Lateef doesn't have to wait around to see if we're going to keep starting Mark Mauer.

Good problem to have, and Raiola is off to an exciting start himself.

Many thought that Arch Manning might be the best QB in the country.
According to ESPN's QBR, he has yet to be the best QB in a game in which he played this year.

Many thought that DJ Lagway might be a Heisman Trophy candidate.

Lagway was horrendous last night. Literally the entire reason Florida lost. 5 picks and 2 trying to win the game under 5 minutes left. They were even still in it until the 4th pick.

Arch has looked like an Iowa QB so far.

Was lagaway one of those crazy nil deals?
I don't know, but pretty sure he is doing quite well with NIL.

The love he got last year at times and now going into this year likely has something to do with how he was rated coming out of HS. They all want him to be a stud so badly, and don't want to be wrong.
