Said as a young coach he admired NU football and tried to emulate it. He ran the option at UNC. He wins 9-10 games ayear and can recruit and he would restore the tradition!

uh....naw....I don't think that would be a good choice for Nebraska, there are better ones....his age is one thing that I would look at. I know his players really liked him though.

i read somewhere that dollar bill wanted mack back when he knew coach tom was leaving. we're it no for the deal between osborne and the school to select solich, he would have been our coach.

would that have changed things? dunno.

Up through 2002 Frank had the staff that TO wanted there. Mack probably wouldn't have had to carry that burden, a definite plus. But Mack's big thing is recruiting and he is in the biggest recruiting hot-bed in the country. It would be harder here. He probably wouldn't have had VY here and VY carried that team on his back. I don't know if Mack would have done any better than Solich.

Did'nt it take Mack Brown 3 quarters to figure out that all you needed to do was run against Nebraska defense.

He also just lost to Texas AM last night and losing any chances of them winning the big 12 south and going to the championship game.

If you look at the details of his contract extension before the season, you would know Mack isn't going anywhere. He will retire as a coach at Texas on his terms and take a significant job in the Texas Athletic Department. He doesn't want to go anywhere else.
