Minnesota Game Preview

Huskers open as a -5.5 favorite.

From what I've seen the Gophers don't concern me much. That probably means another 4th Qtr battle.

Gophers rarely concern me against NU. Its the whole "NU" v "NU" that concerns me. Not meaning to be so negative, yet it would be very on-brand for NU to lose this game after a somewhat break-thru victory. I don't Minnesota has been the more talented team in any of the recent losses.

This game would be a further continuation of a program shift if NU can win. It would be back to back road wins plus everything you just said. Dont care if NU wins by 1 point or 20 points. Just win and move forward.

I watched a fair amount of the Purdue/ MN tilt:

They don't stay dedicated to the run despite their RB (#1 I think) is pretty good
Their QB is nothing special- he doesn't read very well and he isn't nearly as athletic as Sorley, Michigan QB, or the MD QB.
Their defense is decent but not great- they didn't seem to generate a great deal of pass rush that wasn't > 4-5 seconds.

I agree with the comments above, however. This game will come down to whether NU wants to fold or play well. This one is there for the taking if they don't go (-3) in the TO and keep their game together.

This far into the season with a relatively mediocre product on the field, the U of MN fans may not show. MN, like 99% of other places, is HS football on friday nights.

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might see both teams wearing some pink stuff. Rhule mentioned NU & Minn had agreed to honor breast cancer awareness.

Rhule needs to remind Emmett that Fleck didn't recruit him, didn't think he was fast/good/tough enough to be a golden rodent. I want to see him rush for over 200 yards in his hometown.
