The number of successful long field goals seems to have exploded, with career highs from kickers on multiple teams and 65 yard field goals considered an acceptable risk.

Now I'm hearing it's due to a rule change that allows pre-game manipulation of designated balls per the kicker's preference. Sort of like Deflate-gate for kickers but even more consequential.
