Minnesota: What Did We Learn?

Hate these Friday games in the middle of the season. I don’t care if we win or lose them, I greatly dislike Friday night games.
I agree with you about the Friday night games.

According to the Big Ten:
Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are the Big Ten teams that do not play Friday night games, while Iowa has an exception for home games and will only play on Friday nights on Labor Day or Black Friday weekends. These allowances are made due to factors like high school football traditions, traffic concerns on campus, and avoiding the unique logistical challenges of scheduling a game when classes are in session.

In my opinion it is absolute B.S. that certain teams in the Big Ten do not have to play these games while the rest of the conference members do. Either everyone should have to play a Friday night game or no one does.

1. Matt Rhule is a used car salesman and a damn good one at that. The Chevy dealer has some interest but might look elsewhere.
2. Johnson played hard and it’s easy to root for the kid.
3. Donovan shouldn’t be allowed within 3 blocks of a Pop Warner team, let alone a D1 roster.
4. Dual threat QBs are crucial when you don’t have great o-line play. Dylan might be the slowest QB since Jared Lorenzen.
5. Nebraska’s pass rush may actually be worse than the O-line play. #96+#57= $1.5 million? Donate that money to some local causes.
6. I hated the Butler hire last winter and I hate it tonight. The defense never wreaks havoc.
7. Next Summer when you enter the ‘How Many Wins’ prediction thread, and you want to click 8,9, or 10 wins… check in with your psychiatrist and if they say it’s ok to post, have at it.

Yeah for the league all about unanimity it goes out the window here.

I can understand week 0 or week 1, I can get behind annual Black Friday rivalry, but otherwise messing with high school Friday nights it is a no go for me. Gonna be a whiner here and complain how it’s a Friday night game on the road following an away game.

Not a single player or position played up to “standard,” and if the coaches won’t get after everyone’s asses and make the rest of the season a response to this embarrassment, then I don’t know if anyone is safe

Minnesota has sucked at running all year. Iowa will have a field day. We might get lucky and win 1 or 2 more games in the regular season, but that is it. There are too many issues and o-line and d-line.

All good points. Rhule has struggled to build a competent staff with Eckeler being the only qualified assistant coach on the staff. Dana has his moments but then loses them. If Dana were truly great he would be vocally pushing for Donovan to be fired.

Also, this 2025 season is Nebraska's easiest schedule in a long time. Next season they get Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon, Maryland, Washington and Iowa.

I learned the obvious. We still aren't there.

I knew a game like this was bubbling, it was just a matter of time but still was hoping for more.

Playing on a Friday, all whites, head coach distracted. It all was the perfect storm of hot garbage but still this just felt like the old team.

Shout-out to the special teams that continues to bring it. The future looks bright in that regard but tonight was not our night.
I liked your post because it is much of what I would say and tonight’s performance is not worth writing more of what everyone already knows. I will add one more thing. Row The Boat will beat pink pu&&y helmets everytime. That right there tells you all you need to know about these team’s mentalities.
