Northwestern Week Pressers

I felt like it was the PLAYERS were talking like this week was a must win game and I hate the thought they're putting that kind of pressure on themselves.

If that kind of talk serves to motivate them and play well then ok! It just makes me nervous and I wish the players would say very little other than "Northwestern looks good on film" and leave it at that.
Yes, I would rather have them having an attitude of...we have something to prove....than...Oh my...we have to win this game.

It is a must win if they still believe they have a shot at something bigger this year. It looks terrible right now, and it is pretty unlikely they can win 5 straight, but if they do, all their goals are still possible.

We are neither as good as we thought we were before this game nor are we as bad as we played on Friday. Very few people thought we were going to the playoffs this year. So, let's get focused again and win the majority of the rest of our games. Hopefully.

I don't disagree a bit but I am fine with them still seeing the potential that is there as well if it motivates them.

I am curious why you feel Northwestern is a must-win game? I mean, in a way they all could be must-win games, but what about Northwestern makes you feel this is a must-win?
It’s our easiest game remaining on the schedule. Coming off a complete turd sandwich of a showing. If we lose this one lord help us all. This board might not be standing Sunday if we lose lol.

Coaches always point fingers at players for letdowns. It begins with the coaches every time. The game plan, prep, & play calling. Good on Rhule for doing the same thing to his staff 99.9% of coaches put on their players in this situation.

I'm not even going to address how ridiculous it is for this team to overlook anybody or maybe I just did.

What if we’re just not very good? I don’t see a huge upside or advantage at any position. DR’s fine, but his weaknesses are easily exploitable. We can blame lack of NIL, but is it that much less than Minnesota?

Rewatching the Minnesota game tonight. Half way through the third quarter, we had run 15 plays in Minny territory to their 1 in Nebraska territory. We kicked their tails but but couldn't finish drives. Maybe we were tired after the back to back road trips or maybe our coaching staff screwed up... or whatever but the reality is we are much better than we showed in the last quarter and a half. I'm glad I rewatched the game.
