USC: What Did We Learn

Is there any place that would take Donnie on that Dylan/Dayton would actually flip to? Like where is he getting a job that is also an attractive place for them to also land?
That is my type of logic. For real!! And great point. I don't think another P4 program would.

I have heard that asked to media types who have some inside knowledge. They have said Dana has tried to adapt what he has for athletes. They also had stated Satt has no say on O. But who knows.
Dana himself has said it's the same playbook as Satterfield, but he's adapted it some to his liking. I think his though process was that he didn't want to throw a brand new playbook and terminology at a Sophomore QB.

Hope he does for his Jr QB next year....
Me too. I remember being carved up on the slants and crossing routes, and then getting beat on the outside screens when we started to cheat. Then all of the sudden the RB pops a big run or gain on wheel route.

Plus Dylan has had like 3 new play books the last 4 years anyway hasn't he? He transferred a morning high school.

For all the gnashing of teeth around here, the computers gave our defense an upgrade after their performance.

Total D national rank is 27th...If the run D could just be average....One day both will have to be complimentarily ranked (upper end)....Right??

ChatGPT saying average of top 25 teams is total offense 31 and total defense 33.....
Our total offense is 40th....per Sports Reference....Didn't think total O would be worse than total D.....Wow.

the defense has played well enough every game for us to be undefeated. can't say the same about the offense.

holgerson has been a massive disappointment. if he doesn't figure it out next year i think you have to replace him

Appreciate the enthusiasm, but the caliber of offense we have faced all season is less than stellar. We should have a high total defense ranking. Auburn is 4-5 and has a top 10 defense.......
USC was the most complete offensive team we have played all season. I measure this season and our program based on if we play Indiana or OhioSt, they would put up 50 and it wouldn't be pretty. USC is at best going to be 8-4 in my opinion. Pretty comparable to us actually. Improving, but miles from being Natty contenders.

Those numbers are opponent-adjusted.

I bet you would have said the same thing about how many points Ohio State would have scored against us last year as well.

So, just to clarify, holding the nation's #8 scoring offense 19 points under their average and the #2 total offense 170 yards under their average is a failure to you.
Again, putting words into my mouth as usual. It is not a failure and I never said the word failure anywhere in my post, but what does it matter if the result is still that we are 0-29 against ranked opponents? Until we start translating those stats into wins that matter, we are not going to take that next step. We have been close for so long. Can you not see that or do you just like arguing with me?

Why can we not point out things that are good, even if the overall result is not what we want?
