UCLA- What Did We Learn

I learned that if TJ played against minny, we win. If getting sacked 9 times does not make coaches wonder if putting a mobile QB could make a difference, then you know we have slow coaches. If, by some miracle TJ is retained, Matt Rhule and Dana need to start employing a dual QB system. TJ is too good to be riding the bench.

Don’t even know if this the right thread to start this lil conversation.

For years…and years and sometimes week after week…we have watched 2nd and 3rd team backup QBs carve us up. Go look it up, 2nd team QBs have set records on us and won games so stupidly on us. Backup QBs have beat us up over the last decade, we have definitely given up some records of playing against a backup in games.

Short story long….it’s nice to have one of our backups actually go out and win a f’ing game and play like we have a whole team. F yeah. I’m so pumped we didn’t just crap the bed and wait for HH or Daily, or Duke, or any other total crap a$$ f’ing backup play reps for us.
We have been the absolute abyss of backup QB for about 15 yrs. Nice to see a backup play well and win a game on the road. For f’ing once in my lifetime. Let’s go Lateef. We finally had a backup win something for or us!!!

I don’t know scheme or details like many if you, but it seems to me the offense as a whole works better when the run game is the core. Feels like Holgo before this game featured Raiola first- like every play was designed for him exclusively. Would like to see some more TE worked in.

holgerson puts together some nice drives, but can't seem to coach a complete game. we should have had more than 28 points tonight.

i'm not sure why john butler gets so much hate. the defense has been competent every single game. it's not breaking any records, but the offense has been way more inconsistent.
