AD Nov Radio Show -
The stadium update will come on the December radio show. He did mention that he's been meeting with donors or business about the stadium.

1) Update operations to meet today's demand

2) 100+ years old - stadium foundation needs updated (south is 50 years old, some walls are original and need to be updated).

3) Stadium needs to become a revenue maker - very common across the nation with other schools but said Nebraska is behind on that and he mentionedvolleyball day and conterts and PBA events (basketball, concerts, other events) simialr things can happen at the stadium in the future.

4) He will take some blame for the reseating of football and volleyball, but it is another revenue generator. He noted that season ticket holders will keep their tickets, but nobody will be kicked out of the arena, just people will be in different seats, with the goal of having extra tickets available for the new generation of fans to experience the Huskers.

5) Talked NIL

6) Talked Fan support on road games and in SD

7) Talked about Coach Ruhules contract

8) New Mascot Rumors - Shut It Down .... NO NEW MASCOT COMING

9) AD got postitive national responce to blackout, plan on doing blackout game yearly with sponsor. The field was supposed to be painted late friday night but rain make them doing it in advance. New black uniforms next year. wants to write int next TV deal that Nebraska blackout game must be a night game, like Penn State does with a white out game. New TV deals comes in 2031.

10) New bowl lineup coming next year as the old pack 12 teams are still in their old bowl contracts.

*No new mascot. 😥
I'm sorry, but I think Herbie sucks.

*The blackout was super cool from my TV perspective. I love knowing we're doing it again.

*Volleyball reseating is pi$$ing off a lot of longtime VB season ticket holders. Dannen needs to navigate this cautiously.

What's the deal with the volleyball reseating? I hadn't heard about that. As far as I knew the Bob was the premiere volleyball venue in the world, are they changing it somehow?

I'm totally fine with it for football along with the stadium renovations (which will presumably lower overall capacity). Get rid of the grandfathered tickets as well.

When they moved to the Bob, they covered up some seating at the top of the arena. Those seats are still there and they plan to reopen those up. In the process, the way I understand it, they are doing away with some of the grandfathered in tickets that people have had for a long time.

At least, that's what I'm guessing people are talking about.

Everything they are doing is focused on helping Nebraska meet current or future financial trends. Everything is about revenue generation.

For Volleyball:
Starting this spring, they will close the venue down for construction upgrades, which include adding about 1500 new seats in the standing room area, moving the students to the north end by the band, and reseating every seat. Also, the volleyball locker room will get a massive facelift, and the last upgrade happened in 2014.
The reseat will allow those who donate the most to athletics to have some of the best seat, like other schools are doing, but if you are a current season ticket holder, you will still get tickets, but based on your giving level, your seat will be different.

Football:
- Update coming in Dec
- The reseating of the stadium with the ending of the grandfathering in will make every seat have its own price. This will happen after the 2027 season in the spring of 2028. With downsizing the stadium, anyone with season tickets will have a ticket if they want, but they will come at more of a higher cost, as every seat will have a new seat fee.
- There is also a lot of ageing concrete and pillars and supports that will have to be replaced as the stadium is over 100 years old, along with modernizing it for future use to host concerts and other sports besides 8 home football games every year.
- The South Stadium will be rebuilt with 360 access on the main concourse, and a large scoreboard will be added to the south end with the addition of endzone suites.

The students and band will move behind the south goal posts, similar to Ohio State and Iowa.

- New seats will be installed stadium-wide, including with larger spacing in mine.

Some of this is from the original announcement, so unsure of what has or will change, but Dannan has also said some of these things already recently.

What of this is from Trev's original plan that you're assuming and what has actually been talked about by Troy? I've been keeping up to date with this and have seen zero confirmation of any of this.

I'm highly skeptical of the last part especially. Seats throughout the entire stadium would essentially mean having to dramatically reshape the treads, risers and underlying concrete for every single row of every section, which I think would be between $50-100mil just on its own. Trev's plan a few years ago was already at $500 million before the serious inflation of the last few years, and included no work along these lines in east/west/north.

Some of each…

Troy has said some of the same things that Trev was planning publicly.

Updated Technology including a video board in south stadium. 360 access on main concourse

“Planned improvements include chair-back seating replacing benches in the South, East and West Stadiums, enhanced restroom and concession areas, and improved access to upper portions of the structure.”

Troy has said all of these points over the past two years.
