QB Dayton Raiola

Whole lot of people banking on TJ being the answer after beating a bad UCLA team last week. Let's hope he does well the rest of the season, but it is important to remember that he was Dylan's backup for a reason.
I think many people are somewhat skeptical about the legitimacy of those "reasons". Right or wrong, that will always happen when there are potential conflicts of interest within an organization, and we've got lots of 'em.

I am disappointed in the way the fanbase has turned on a kid/family who have done nothing but try and help the program up to this point. While I am also frustrated that Dayton decided to decommit, he's done nothing but support Nebraska for years.

I don't think its a matter of fans "turning" on a family as much as it is the eye test of an OL coach that has had plenty of time to produce results and a back up QB that showed a bit of, what a lot of us thought, this offense missed.

Dylan IS and WILL be QB1 going into next season but if TJ shows any type of stats there will and should be a conversation.. As for Dayton, I'm not buying into anything more than the quality and depth of our QB room will not afford him an opportunity... And to me, that is a good thing in general..

I am not sure how good TJ is yet. We will know after the next 2 games. I think we just like the skill set he possesses for the QB position Not all of the sacks belong to the OL. Some to the scheme, and some to the QB holding on to the ball a long time. When Dylan gets back, we need to do more with the run game and play-action pass,

There's no reason to hypothesize without any evidence or reason to.

This seems like both sides acknowledging the writing on the wall and mutually parting ways. Our '26 class is full and filled up early before the progress of the season attracting higher caliber players, and Dayton was always going to be a huge project that was getting a big nepotism favor, with highly touted guys coming before him and after him.

Good luck to the kid, I'm sure he'll land on his feet at a place that's a good fit for him.

Have you read this board or the page for Dylan in recent weeks? There's a whole lot of negative sentiment surrounding Dylan & Donnie and some quick dismissals of Dayton's decommitment this morning. That is disappointing to me.

While I am optimistic about TJ, I think we should pump the breaks on anointing him and see how he does against an legitimate defense.

I for one have not anointed TJ... I liked what I saw and am excited to see what he can do against a more stout defense..

As for "criticism" surrounding Dylan and Donnie I think both are warranted.. Donnie especially, he has had ample time to show he is capable of fielding a worthy O-line and Dylan isn't mobile and does hold the ball to long...

Criticism is one thing, the continuous bagging on them is another... which has happened recently. I can't help but wonder if Dayton has been seeing some of this chatter in recent weeks and decided to change course.

Listed as the 76th QB prospect and 247 still only lists offers from App State and U of Charlotte as his other offers.

It'll be interesting to see where he ends up after this. The musical chairs of QB recruiting for this class is pretty full.

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
