PSU - What Did We Learn?

You’re delusional. Just like the rest of your fanbase. The rest of the country is laughing at you clowns. Dr. Tom ain’t walking through that door. The only way you’re ever winning another conference chip is if you go to the MAC, sweetheart.
sorry..i am not your sweet heart. i don't swing that way.

Interesting comment from Ceyair after game. Is this a coaching issue? Player issue? Another physical beating and the same comments....Disappointing regardless. How the hell do we over look any opponent or get punched in the mouth and say "ok, this is a street fight"....A talking head said that one thing he'd like to see if more fire from the staff lighting into players and being passionate on the sidelines and coach with some fire. I know the admn hated it, but I think that's why the players loved Bo.

"I think we came in here, we knew what was coming, and we didn't execute," The veteran Nebraska cornerback said. "They executed, they were more physical than us, as simple as that. So I don't know why we didn't come with the right mindset. I thought we were prepared, but when the time came to do it, we didn't execute."

Stating this again. Portal players that make impacts want a playoff contender. Ask yourself are we a playoff contender next season? With that schedule, we are not. We can have all the NIL money in the world, but bottom line is winning and beating Oregon and Ohio St. This current roster needs more than just a couple of pieces to compete nationally next season.
Yes and we can't wait for the 2027 recruits to be developed and leading - that would be 2030 at the earliest. Who knows how many in that class will end up actually playing here. Rhule needs a "Indiana type" remake - staff and more than just a few players. I haven't seen anything from the front 7 on D that gives me hope that next year will be different with that group. Don't get me started on the OL and the RB room which is MIA outside of EJ.

Yes players should have the right mindset- they get paid now and there is no excuse on their end not to be self motivated. HOWEVER, ULTIMATELY IT IS ON THE COACHING STAFF TO MAKE SURE THE TEAM IS READY AND HAS THE RIGHT MINDSET!
Both Minny and PSU - Rhule was distracted I believe. Will he be PSU's coach and then this past week - he's coming home to PSU and his high school, etc. It was obvious that the team wasn't ready. Maybe this is all the better this car salesman can do - there is a time to be a salesman and a time to coach. I just wonder how big of a distraction all of his extra PR work is and what it is costing the team.

We beat Cincinnati, who was inside the top 25 for at least two weeks over the course of this season. Just mentioning that because for some reason you mentioned Wisconsin in your rant.
Cincinnati was not ranked when we played them. Am I missing something? They are also 7-4 right now, right? Do you consider Cincinnati superior talent? Just trying to see what point you are trying to make here. We just lost to a 4-6 Penn State and it was more of a beat down than a loss.

TBH, lo country, I was not surprised that we lost but the way we lost. We had two weeks to prepare for this game. Penn state was down and had an interim coach. We, arguably, have veteran coaches and our HC has been in this role for three years. Losing 37-10 after a bye week to a team that only won one BIG game this season is inexcusable, but even if I accept the loss, there is no reason to lose by 27 points. The way Rhule defended the loss by stating that the team kept battling tells me that Rhule has no idea how to outscheme his opponents. It seemed to me that our plan after two weeks of preparation was to get the ball to EJ and hope he can beat PSU. I just really hope that we prepare for Iowa because they will come to Lincoln with the mindset of stepping on our throats. We will see what Rhule and company can do about it.

On the reverse side of the ball, I heard on 1620 this morning that our red zone D ranks something like 134th out of 135 or some number like that. It breaks down that the opponents get some points 97% of the time they are in our red zone. Pathetic.
