Huskers in the 2026 NFL Draft

IMO, we have one guy getting drafted and that's EJ. Some others wil get UDFA shots, that's it.
Sounds bout right.

However, Fingers crossed for the NFL to throw a bone at Rocco and Lutovsky.

Although, other than EJ, I think Singleton will possibly get drafted in later rounds. C.Wright possibly too.

I would think he would get a shot. Singleton possibly as you note but that is about it on the D side.

It would be nice if EJ, fresh off of being named Big 10 RB of the year, could creep up to 2nd or 3rd round.

I think the only way that happens is if he tests of the charts. I think he was fantastic this year but from the eye test he doesn’t appear to have elite top end speed, and I think he’ll have to test well to creep into the higher rounds

EJ should get drafted, but it will be later than he deserves - he is not big, he is not that fast, and teams just don't value RBs highly. I think Ceyair, McCullough, and Singleton (in that order) also have a shot.

  • Ceyair also has questions about top-end speed, and while he really helped the team out by playing Nickel I don't think it's his NFL position. A positive as far as being a team player, but I'm not sure it showcased him in his best light this year.
  • McCullough is going to test well, and he played pretty well when healthy. I'm not sure he's an NFL edge, but I really don't think he's an NFL Safety so the position move was good. It would've helped him to move a few years ago for more time to put on weight and play more at his potential NFL position.
  • Singleton is old, and was inconsistent over his career. But he was a lot steadier this year and he's long. I'm also just not sure how fast he actually is.
Senior/Shrine bowls will be big for all of them. I'd guess we have two players drafted, and then the others above plus Spindler and Key will be UDFAs. Haarberg and Javin Wright (and maybe Lutovsky) are probably camp invites, although unfortunately I'm not sure Javin will pass a physical.

I think once Emmet starts interviewing with teams they will like him a lot more than people and experts think, because of his character, humility/personality and work ethic. NFL gm's, coaches and owners love that type of player. EJ is the opposite of Shadeur Sanders.

I know he doesn't have burst or speed, but I am more worried about his weight & body size. Needs to be up over 205 and try to reach 210. Scouts already know he doesn't have NFL breakaway speed. But he can help a lot in the passing game and can run downhill fighting for yards. That combo makes him valuable on 3rd downs and some first downs here and there.

Once a Husker, always a Husker. Except when you choose not to be a Husker. Or just stopped in Lincoln for a cup of coffee and a quick season.

Sorry, but it doesn't feel the same rooting for Trey Palmer and Wan'dale Robinson and some of the other portal hoppers who move on to the NFL. I don't blame them for making professional career decisions -- they're often the right decision -- but I also don't blame fans who feel a little less loyal to college football going forward.

Given everything effusive Dylan Raiola has said in his Nebraska journey, I will probably root against him if he dumps us. I mean, why would you root for him?

Loyalty matters. You are correct, it doesn't feel the same as rooting for a 3-4 year player. Under the portal, everyone is interchangeable and loyalty while a good virtue isn't the route to success any longer. Maybe we all become fans of Division 2 teams to get that old college spirit back.

Hard disagree on Trey Palmer. He comes back to campus and seems to enjoy the Husker fans. Also without him we don't have a single victory over Iowa in a decade.
