I'm a McCaffrey fan. He's going to win me two fantasy leagues this year because I was grateful that several people drafting ahead of me passed on him.

But he's been a pretty volume-based player this year. He's averaging 3.9 yards per rushing attempt. That is the lowest number in the top 19 players in rushing yards this year. Only six players in the top 40 of rushing yards have a worse number than that, and four of them are rookies.

For more context (not that you care about context and especially if it's PFF providing the context): out of the top 60 players in attempts, McCaffrey has is #40 in yards after contact (per PFF). He's #39 (out of the same 60) in Breakaway Percentage (% of touches for 15+ yards). And he's #54 (out of the same 60) in avoided tackles per touch.

Breakaway percentage is pretty cut-and-dried. I'm sure there could be some quibbling with the other two stats in the previous paragraph. But there really aren't many efficiency numbers that he's been all that great at this year. His total stats are great because he has 13% more touches than even the #2 player in total touches (Taylor). Plus he plays on a really good team, that helps.

But, you know, stick with that narrative.
