Huskers to Face Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl

If you go back to every coaching search post-Solich, you'll find a lot of coaches Husker fans wanted but didn't get, mostly HCs on a hot streak and thus "proven winners."

In hindsight some of those proven winners started losing and fading and you wonder why we wanted them in the first place.

Hiring head coaches isn't easy. Outside of maybe a half dozen, they're all a gamble.

Knaak has a large cast on his left hand but is expected to play.

Pritchett-Lutovsky-Evans-Knaak-Corcoran was the first unit OL. Taumua working at RG behind Knaak.

Nelson and Mozee sharing first-team reps at RB. Kenneth Williams appeared to be #3 with Ives behind him.

McGahee still practicing. Assumed to be a transfer candidate but appears to be playing at least one more game.

Very true but for us we have hurt ourselves with hiring coaches that necessary shouldn't have been coaching at Nebraska in the first place. I truly believe that the Athletic Department set us up for failure with the hires of certain head coaches and we have been in a spin cycle that we can't get out of. Yes Matt Rhule is trying to stop it but I don't have faith he will. I understand he is making better decisions with his hires with RA and GW but how long do you think he has until truly to right the ship?? That extension was impulse extension bc of the AD being scared of him leaving bc he certainly hasn't done much other than getting us to 2 bowl games with a not so good record.

I don’t think we paid players enough either. Jimmies and Joes > Coaching.
