Huskers to Face Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl

I’m glad I’m not the only one. The zip line thing made me a “Debbie downer”

Fair critisism on the lack of results.

But trying to find something to complain about like apparently being annoyed with how he acts because he's not winning enough games is pretty petty. Bill Belichick won a lot of games and acts like a grump all the time. Doesn't strike me as someone who would be a lot of fun to be around or work for. Seems silly to apparently want him to act pissed at the world all the time because you're pissed that he hasn't won enough.
I like the Belichick comparison at NE except one thing..he won.

He’s being lit up now about his smoke show girlfriend. If he won no one would care.

Common theme….just win baby.

I love some of the arguments around here. Both things can be true, the podcasts and hype help recruit players but they also can feel tiresome and overdone to fans. Not everything needs to be one way or the other only.

Agreed. But it is sort of silly to equate the podcasts and hype and generally having fun with some lack of effort at trying to win games.

Obviously winning cures all but not winning does not mean they don’t care or aren’t fully trying. I think it’s that attitude that is receiving the pushback.

That was a lot of words that didn't answer the question. Unless you're just assuming lack of results equals lack of enthusiasm. Which is a lazy assumption.

There's really nothing to say he's not spending an adequate amount of time and effort doing both.
I am jumping in to add just a bit… not taking sides because both have valid points. Just throwing this out bc I too think Rhule is a great salesman, but in today’s world you have to be. I am extremely close to a few guys…. One played bb for Nebraska and was a very prominent player! Says Bolt is very buttoned up and being a player’s coach isn’t his top priority. The other guy plays for a top 5 SEC team and says their coach lines up team outings where the coach will zip line, whitewater raft etc with his players and they love him for that. One coach is constantly in the top 1-5 Nationally, while the other is consistently trying to make the Big 10 tournament. I understand the difference between the SEC and Big 10 bb, but I also understand what it takes to win kids over in today’s world. If it takes Rhule to be human and not a buttoned up machine, then more power to him. Just saying that I think it is possible to be both. I spend everyday working with HS kids/athletes and podcasts are where it is at and Pat McAfee is cool. Just look at what he is doing on Gameday. Like it or not he is the star. Being on McAfee is winning with the young kids. Now, winning football games and championships is what is really about, so time to win games. Just saying that I think he needs to do some of that PR to get recruiting attention.

If you're going to argue that you're tired of the podcasts, fair enough.

If you're going to argue that somehow doing them and being a good interview means you're not doing other parts of your job, that's a pretty ridiculous argument.
