The problem with the money (excuse), is that there are plenty of teams with money not in the playoffs.
Also, Indiana got their money (after) Cig proved himself. And if Indiana can get their hands on big $$$$, then most teams can.
The playing field is about as level as it's gonna get, and you implying otherwise is upsetting me. That may not mean anything to you, but my uncle is Chuck Norris, and he is sworn to protect my delicate sensibilities.

I will be careful how I answer because of your uncle Chuck. You are correct that $$ isn’t everything but I will argue that it is absolutely a huge part. If you look at the schools who spend the most money on football rosters, only Texas and LSU aren’t in the playoffs. Every playoff team (except G5) are mentioned as some of the top NIL schools regarding football rosters. We got outbid on a number of kids last fall, predominantly on the defensive line and it left us with a roster of young and undersized guys. In today’s “outlaw world “ of NIL, I will push back on the statement about the field being as level as it has been. Everyone has the option to spend the money, but some have much more to spend.
With that said, we have no excuse (as far as roster) to lose to some of the teams that we continually lose to in our own conference!!

Hopefully my response didn’t shrink the shoreline on any continents.

I feel like this was the easiest game to predict so far outside of the non power 4 games.

Level playing field.
How many tens-of-millions have we spent on terminated coaches? Now compare that number to how much of MC's money actually made it into the FOOTBALL bank account?
I'm willing to bet my third nipple the numbers are pretty similar.

Not all billionaires are created equal. Cuban worth over 6 , Cody Campbell (TT) over 6, Ohil Knight over 20…. Our primary source ( I think) Peads are somewhere close to 1 billion.

You are correct, at the top of the food chain it is fairly even, billionaires vs billionaires. Get past the top teams and most can’t compete against the billionaires. Indiana is a fluke… not the team, not the coach, not the program…. But the turnaround!! Indiana can’t be used as the primary example, because that type of turnaround just doesn’t happen very often.

Don’t wager your nipples. Although I lose a lot of debates, it’s not worth risking a body party, even if it is just a spare.

I’ll argue just the opposite. Today the playing field is way more level than it has been. Prior to the NIL era, there were teams already paying players a lot of money. It was just under the table. Now, any team can do that above the table. Just because some fan bases don’t choose to do it as much, doesn’t mean the field isn’t level as far as the rules go. This is about the only part of NIL that I think is making the sport better. Some programs were doing it like Alabama and then everyone just sat back only thinking Saben was the greatest coach in history. No, he was a very good coach, but he had the most expensive roster…..under the table. Now, others can compete for those players.
 
Moneys grreat and a huge factor. But so is coaching when you can take a Sorry West Virgina Qb and turn him into a Multiple award winning LB.

We changes guys positions to never hear from them again,
