ND kid had a way Better Team Around him. That's about it. Small sample size for him but to me he's just another TJ back there.

Watch his film. It might not be a lot, but he is accurate & he reads the field much better. I would guess that you said the same thing about Burrows when transfered.

If you believe Callahan, he was saying ND people told him Minchey was in a neck and neck battle with the QB that got the job. Isn't it possible that ND has more than one really great QB?

That's what I've seen from the fanbase as well, there were apparently camp reports that said they expected Minchey to ultimately get the job.

Minchey's highlights look ok, but the reality is that Nebraska needs an experienced QB to take over next year. I don't care if that's P5 or FCS....experience in games will be far more helpful given Nebraska's schedule. I am hoping the coaches are pursuing other options besides Minchey.

I think it's pretty much a given that we're gonna take more than one QBs (as I said elsewhere, we'd need four to maintain our current count). The question is whether they'll be legit starter contenders, or just filler guys.

Yes he had better talent around him, but this is a guy that got TDs on most of his drives in the clips. What stood out to me was his quick decision making in getting the ball out, especially on out routes and curls. I also loved the mobility on 3 plays especially: 1) the scramble where he lowered his shoulder to get an extra 2-3 yards (LOVE the toughness - he was also hit on that targeting later in the clips and got right back up and kept playing), 2) his 40 yard zone read pull where he was patient with his receiver blocking upfield (shows that he understands how to run), and 3) his 30 yard designed qb draw where he made a defender miss and showed off top speed. MIND YOU ALL THREE OF THESE CLIPS WERE AGAINST POWER 4 TEAMS

Navy is not a Power 4 team. Stanford is a 4-8 team. And Purdue, Arkansas, and Syracuse combined had one single P4 win this season between them.

Kind of like when people clamored over TJ because he dead legged a kid from HCU at the 10 yard line and looked great vs UCLA.

We can't say definitively. Would Lateef be ranked as a protal 4-star in 2026? Probably not. It's a upgrade in that sense. Whatever that's worth.

He’s a good QB for sure. But to be fair, any team with a pretty good running game is going to destroy 2025 NU’s defense, right?

The reason he’s so good is because he can also drop a dime in on medium/long distance throws.

We’d all love to grab a QB like him, but I honestly don’t think that not having a QB with a great running ability is what’s holding us back.

But, we definitely need SOMETHING that uses more power in the red zone.

Minchey isn't run first but he can use his legs well enough and throws a good ball.
