Portal QBs

I guess I kind of get the hate for Lagway but he has all the tools to succeed and just got done with only his second year in college dealing with injuries also. I would not be upset with him.

Florida State just got there QB tonight
I know Lagway. I put this in Raiola thread earlier -

Josh Hoover committed to Indiana
Brendan Sorsby committed to Tech
Drew Mestemaker committed to Okie State
Rocco Becht committed to Penn State
Lincoln Klienholz committed to Louisville
Colton Joseph committed to Wisconsin (was a top target for FSU)
Aaron Philo committed to Florida
Ethan Grunkeymeyer committed to VaTech
Cutter Boley committed to Arizona State
Katin Houser committed to iLLinois
Jaden Craig committed to TCU

On the Board

Dylan Raiola
DJ Lagway - lean towards Florida State or Virginia
Sam Leavitt - Oregan Native
Byrum Braum - lean towards Auburn with his USF Coach
Aiden Chiles - pursed by Clemson
Beau Pribula
Austin Simmons - Ole Miss lefty - heavy lean towards Mizzou

LSU (Kiffin) needs a QB - they all left / grad / transfered
Leavitt to Oregon if Moore goes NFL. Otherwise he goes LSU.
FSU likely goes Lagway
Clemson likely goes Aiden Chiles or Chad Morris
Ole Miss needs QB only if Chambliss isn't granted 6th year medical
Miami will need to replace Carson Beck

Raiola appears to be waiting on Oregon / Moore / Leavitt.... & Miami. Lousiville didn't wait on him and got their QB.
FSU waiting on Lagway and hasn't pursed Raiola.
Clemson isn't thinking Raiola.

I would not be surprised we hear Raiola to Miami the day of their playoff game to maximize publicity. Or to Oregon the day of their playoff game. If seems these teams have been quiet on QBs.

Why not?

I suppose the obvious answer is to avoid complete and utter chaos every year. Leveling the playing field for everyone so more teams can compete, not just those with billionaires filling the coffers of the NIL fund and such at such school….so on and so forth.

Also, signing guys to contract terms (or transfer limits this case) is how every other professional sports league does business vs just having everyone on perpetual 1 year deals.

This is no longer amateur sports.

Maybe it is just me, but what makes me mad isn’t the fact we missed out on the guy we determined had the best talent for the amount of money we are willing to spend. But I am more mad about the continual bad optics around the program. We don’t have the optics of being a tough respected team with coaches that can bring in dudes. Rather we have the optics we landed our guy and then two days later he leaves even after having a no contact tag on him. The optics nationally is that our 5 star qb (Dylan) left our program cause we were hopeless. Players question why other players are running away. We are always the butt of the joke. No one takes us seriously. Rightfully so. We needed momentum in the portal and needed to start off hot like Texas Tech and Indiana. Anyone can start off hot with a good GM and a pocket of money. Rhule told us we had both and it seems we will soon be fighting for scraps and overpaying for mediocre players that will get us to 4 wins in a brutal schedule next year. There will be no coming back for Rhule after that. The 2027 class hasn’t signed yet and no more 5 star recruits will be landing on his doorstep. Portal season has been a giant disappointment thus far.

Can you name a team that isn't in the playoff that has started off hot in the portal? I agree it's been largely disappointing, but I don't think it's true that anyone can win the portal with just money anymore. Guys are wising up to the fact that they can get fair market value and play for teams that win which is a lot of times preferable to making 20% more and not knowing whether the team will be good.

AFAICT none of these are Husker fan accounts. Putting in quote tag because it's long and splitting into multiple posts because apparently there's a limit on Tweets in a post.
