Portal QBs

Lol... Sims was a last resort choice, They didn't want him, he was just the best they could get on short notice.

And what would you call a guy we rushed in on short notice when plan A (who might not have even been plan A himself) bailed? I think Colandrea will be fun to watch, and it's quite possible he's legitimately good. But let's not pretend this was the plan all along.

Well I mean of course not.

There was a pretty big contingent on this board that thought Raiola wasn't very good. I honestly think they were incorrect about that analysis. I think Dylan could have been a really good player for us in 2026.

But, he transferred. So of course it wasn't the plan. The minute he and Davila decided to transfer we had no choice but to go out and get at least one QB from the portal.

My point though is, for the staff, the plan was for Dylan to be the starter for 2026.

They chose Sims over Thompson in camp so they must have wanted him enough. Granted Casey was a hold over from SF so which qb am I missing they hit it on? They didn’t turn over a rock and discovered Dylan under there

They brought Sims in (not over Thompson) because Thompson had surgery, would not be available for spring ball, and they told him they'd love to have him but that they can't promise him the starting job since he'd be injured and missing all of the install in the spring.

Rhule tried to leave room for both, Casey said screw that, and proceeded to play decent in 2.5 games before getting hurt again.

Fair enough on Sims vs Thompson competition. I still don’t have any confidence in our staff in terms of qb evaluations
Hopefully Colandrea works out. This is where I’m at currently however. Fortunately there’s a ton of opportunity for improvement

Thanks, but why is Demond complaining about Thamel posting a statement by Demond’s now former agent? Guessing that comment was already posted publicly.

It's not his former agent which is part of the problem. Agents shopping their clients around is one thing, Landers was not his agent and was (allegedly) the one who took it upon himself to find a better deal. The agent quit either 1) in protest because that's not how things should be done, or 2) because of the public backlash against Williams and wanting to distance himself from it by claiming he wasn't involved. Probably #2.

Idk what his actual job is, but he is some sort of advisor who supposedly talked Nico Iamaleava into leaving Tennesee and now apparently talked Demond Williams into leaving Washington
Still confused as to why that guy and Demond are complaining about Thamel posting Demond’s former agent’s statement.

I don't think the statement from the former agent is the issue - Thamel published a full story (link) including this line which Landers doesn't like:

"Per sources, one person who has contacted schools about Williams is Cordell Landers, who generally refers to himself as an adviser and loomed as one of the central figures in Iamaleava's departure from Tennessee. Landers denied to ESPN that he is involved with Williams."

Interesting, but wouldn’t that screenshot of him texting Demond indicate he is in fact involved? Crazy situation, that young man is getting some poor advice.

I would call him one of the better options available nationally. None of us have any idea what the plan was all along. Lot of click bait out there but who knows what to actually believe.
