Dylan Raiola

Based off of the fact that Rhule went down to Dayton's last HS game on a visit and the timing of Donnie getting fired & Dylan saying he was transferring out.

Rhule didn't squeeze Dylan out of the picture. Dom seems to be a loose cannon.
You think? Dom has a history of behavior occurrences throughout his playing career. Just plain erratic and hostile.

I can follow the timeline up until Dayton. He obviously doesn’t have as much talent at Dylan, so were we stringing the family along by being “interested” in him. Wasn’t Dayton the first one to commit to Nebraska as an 8th grader? Then Dom , then Dylan…. We kind of manipulated the whole family. We’re getting what we deserve for blurring the lines so much.

We feign interest for an 8th grader and employed the Uncle before Dylan committed. Then let the neurotic father walk the halls like he has the keys. We definitely crossed some lines.
The uncle had a legit resume.
Colleges "show interest" in 8th grade students- https://prepredzone.com/2021/10/comprehensive-list-of-8th-graders-2026-with-verbal-offers/
Any proof of the "neurotic father" walking the halls?

There is a lot of crap out there on the internet but just because it is discussed doesn't make it fact.

Of course we targeted Dylan, like many other schools. We were all pretty damn happy we landed him at the time- yourself included. The general feeling was do what it takes to land him.

You really got my hopes up there, man.

And by "getting my hopes up" I mean hoping that there was an onion in the ointment for his transfer dreams.

Read that too fast. Thought you were saying it was an Onion article about Dylan.

Might as well'd been I guess.

Baby Gronk is proof of this.....

What kind of lines did we cross? Ethical lines?

Nebraska didn't fake interest in Dayton; that was a legit offer, regardless of whether it was a package deal or not.
In 8th grade? I can’t remember another 8th grader we offered. Did he have other offers? What a coincidence that it was Dylan’s brother.

And, um, no not ethical. Like proper coaching boundaries and parental relationships.

If you opened the link I posted above from 2021 you will see recruiting 8th graders has been happening for some time. Major schools like Michigan, Ole Miss, Florida, Michigan, PSU, etc... are the schools offering in an attempt to get ahead of the recruiting struggle to land athletes. There were 21 8th graders on that list at that time.

Can you define what a "proper coaching boundary" is? What is an acceptable parental relationship to have when trying to land a multi million dollar athlete?

I'll ask again - Any proof of the "neurotic father" walking the halls?
