2025-2026 Portal Updates

That is where the clearing house run by Deloitte comes in.

In theory, anyway. I mean NIL was supposed to be just for 'legit' deals to begin with, but obviously that didn't last long. Will the clearinghouse really be able to provide meaningful limitations long-term, especially once the lawsuits hit?

That is the question, but early indications are that it is holding. No serious challenges have been made yet though tbh.

Here's a recent article out today. I read it and it seems like click bait tbh....More "last year" and some speculation...Don't know where they are drawing the conclusion NU has monies woes again this portal....But it's portal related and folks commenting on money so here it is. I'm guessing this quote:

But, once again, it comes down to money. Rhule likes what he has in the room. There is talent and potential aplenty between the returning players and the high school signee, Jamal Rule. We just haven't seen it play out much on the field, and Rhule noted on Sports Nightly on Friday that he had to utilize his resources elsewhere.

"When you look at the portal—if you don't lose a ton of guys—there's only so much money you have to compensate the rest of it," Rhule said. "When we look at the running back room, we believe in those guys and we're going to roll with them."

The article assumes they didn’t add a running back because of money not because the coaches don’t want to.

Rhule said Friday that he expected a couple more portal commits over the weekend. Did we hear of any? All I heard was a potential portal loss in the Iowa Western player going to Clemson.
