LSU fans say good ridence to Pelini!

If you don't want Bo, why do you care so much what we think of him?

Not blitzing on 4th and 12 does sound like a mistake, in hind sight. However, i don't know much about the how the game went up to that point. If LSU had been blitzing a lot or had been getting good pressure from their D line, i could understand the decision not to go for it.

Even if it was a bad call, so what. It's one call, and every coach makes a bad call once in a while. I'm fine with giving him criticism for not blitzing on 4th and 12. But at the same time, isn't the guy at least somewhat responsible for the preceeding 3 downs that apparently went well to put Arky in a bad position. Or how about his D winning the game against Tenn? Seesh.

The man's defense got you into the NC game. I find it hard to believe there's not a lot more good than bad about his coaching.

this lsu team had one of the easiest schedules ever for an sec team, if it weren't for how easy our schedule was, how lucky we were, how succesful the offense was at bailing out the defense. bo never would have been considered for that job. we're about 3 plays away from being 7-5.

LSU's defense has made plays much more consistently than the offense. At the end of the game, when everything is on the line, it has usually been the defense that has been asked to step up. If LSU's offense wasn't constantly turning the ball over on their side of the field, Pelini's defense would have much better statistics.

NOPE! nice try, if i was you i'd have gone with generic answer #3 also, but if there is one thing this team has done exceptionally well, its "have an outstanding turn over-ratio." 3 fumbles all year long... none of which were "in lsu territory" and only 2 int's that directly resulted in scores.

Why would Les Miles want Pelini to coach his defense during the National Championship game if he doesn't have faith in Bo's abilities? Are the LSU fans smarter than their head coach?

If LSU wants to complain about having the number 3 defense in the nation for 3 years in a year...well I say have fun with your new DC. That is about as good as it gets on D. Maybe you should look at your Offense...
apparently it does get better... like 2 spots better j/k

and if you ranked defenses on the last 6 games... lsu wouldn't be in the top 15, much less top 5. all of what made us the "#3 d" was done early, and took people like osu and usc a while to bring their averages down... while we brought ours waaaayyyyy up. in the first 3 games we gave up 14 pts and about 500yds give or take. but once we got into serious sec play... through the floor. look at what ole miss did to bo/our d

Well, one of your games in the first 3 was against Virginia Tech who did in fact make a BCS game. Don't you suppose the reason for being so great the first 3 games stemmed from everyone was healthy? I was under the impression that the LSU D was pretty banged up and had several key injuries. Maybe this is why the last 6 games weren't nearly as impressive as the first 3?

Harp, please finish this statement: "Posting on Husker Board allows me to ________________"

The only explanation for Harp's hatred toward Pelini has got to be the fact he is leaving. This guy has spent the last week doing nothing but flaming on this board. His whole bases of hatred seemingly comes from one play. Which by all accounts was the right call, his players just didnt execute.

If you dislike Pelini so much, why waste your time talking about how bad he is and trying to convince otherwise? If LSU picked up Coz or BC, i wouldnt waste my time on Tigerpoop.com telling you how terrible the choice was. I would sit back and laugh to myself.

Many LSU fans down here have said tha Pelini didn't blitz enough and force turnovers. They said he relied on having superior athletes.

LSU has a lot of great athletes i will not argue that at all, but i keep hearing how Pelini i underachieving with this defense. You do have talent on that team but i do not think you have the most talent in the nation, maybe not even the 3rd most talent. Take a look at some of the individual stats of LSU's defensive players.

LSU has the 1 player in the top 100 sack leaders in the nation(Kirston Pittman T-77th) and Glen Dorsey is T-103. In total tackles you have 2 guys in the top 200(Craig Steltz-158 and Ali Highsmith-T-181). In Tackles for loss you have Dosey and Pittman both T-143 in the nation. Steltz is T-21 in INT's with Chevis Jackson T-97th and Jonathan Zenon T-170. So LSU doesnt have 1 player in the top 20 in one of those categories and only 3 guys in the top 100, but they are still the 3rd ranked D in the nation.

now lets look at the #2 and #1 ranks D's

USC has 3 guys in the top 100 in sacks (T-18, T-28, and T-77), they have 2 guys in the top 100 in tackles for loss (T-45 and T-80). They have 1 guy in the top 100 in INT's (T-55th) and two guys T-212th.

Ohio State has 3 guys in the top 150 in sacks (two players T-121 and 4th), they have two guys in the top 150 in total tackles (T-65 and T-121), and they 4 guys in the top 250 in tackles for loss(T-211, two are T-184, and T-38). Then they have on the INT's list(T-212 and T-115)

It seems that both the schools has just as much or more talent thatn LSU has, and they both play in a weaker conference than LSU. So how is LSU doing almost as good as these 2 other schools, well maybe just maybe it is because of the coaching(Bo Pelini).

NP I'm not discounting what you're saying there, but a lot of those stats from USC and OSU could be the result of playing lesser talent in the Pac-10 and Big 10.

did you watch va tech early in the season? did you watch them lately? do you honestly think thats the same team? remember when east carolina held them to 17 points a week before they played lsu? do you see where you're rationale is flawed?

because you're kinda saying east carolina should have a top 15 defense if lsu is 3rd.

yes we are kinda banged up on d, though not as bad as the o has been. but we're waaaaayyyy deeper on d and there isn't really that much of a drop off in talent betweeen the strings (especially on the line) that being said... that dosent justify a TOTAL change of philosophy.

That was his point. LSU plays in a much harder conference and still is rated 3rd.

LSU is over-rated anyway. How they managed to back into the BCS Championship instead of a superior Oklahoma team is beyond me. Everyone knows that Big 12 football is superior to the SEC...everyone but the BCS Selection Committee that is...

You havent????? I got into it with you on friday and the thread was shut down by mods. You have been a member since 11/30 which is 4 days, and have 23 posts most of which are telling us how bad a hire Pelini is. Why waste your time? It doesnt make any sense. Why are you so intent on trying to convince us otherwise? You obviously are not going to, the only reason to continue is hopefully you convince all of huskernation to hate Pelini before he signs his contract and then comes sniveling back to LSU.
