From what I've heard, Eckler was pretty much Pelini's right-hand man. Was involved a lot in developing game plans for the defense. So... take it FWIW...

So Eckler was a football-coach that got snuck in under-the-pretenses of a strength-coach? That works I guess. But I can't say I'm without reservations. When we promoted Albin from GA he'd already been HC of a NAIA national champ. He not only had Solich's seal-of-approval he had credentials. This is the first "real" coaching job for a couple of guys, Bo obviously has faith in them but I'm still a bit nervous.

i have been reading that it is Possible that former NU player and now a coach at Southern Miss, Mike Grant could be the running back coach

the only thing that we know for sure right now is that Ron Brown and Barny Cotton have been hired.

on Huskers.com, they only have Bo Pelini's name on there as the HC, and no other names as assistants

 
Bo Pelini and Mike Eckler were out in CA today to see Simi Kuli, so i guess that Mike Eckler has been hired but not sure what his title is going to be

Might be the new LB coach

Seems so weird to see Mike Eckler's name as i went to school with him and his brother! To bad i didnt keep in touch with them or i might have some free tickets! LOL

 
must be some crazy visits going on right now, because Bo has visited with Cameron Meredith and Ted Gilmore was with him. the article that i read said the Gilmore was the wide recievers coach and Recruiting Coordinator

Latest LJS article suggests Randy Jordan will be staying at NU along with Gilmore and Watson.
