With the hire of Beck, people are saying he will be our pipeline to talent in Texas! I think they could be right.

 
5 Texas players in this weekend.

If you notice the trend of who our new staff is recruiting as opposed to our old staff you can see a change.

Our old staff went after the star rating and wow factor. Our new staff is going after three star players who have speed and tremendous upside.

Maybe not as polished right off, but with the right coaching.......?????

 
Yeah. Also, I'm sure that the new staff will go after more high-star players too - it does not mean they are just blinded by Scout ratings. I'm sure both staffs made their own assessments, and the only ones who are REALLY apt to be blinded by star ratings is ourselves, as fans.

The thing is, there just aren't many 5-star players we can get a foot in the door with at this stage. But there are a lot of hidden gems to be discovered, which I suspect is what the staff is doing. I think they will approach it differently once they aren't in 'last-minute salvage' mode.

absolutely correct, they are salvaging what they can at this point.
