New QB in Green Bay

Wild Bill

Five-Star Recruit
In a news conference today, Deanna Favre announced she will be the starting quarterback for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB for the Packers. During this period of time she became familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now completely comfortable with other terminology of the Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that 50% of those polled supported the move.

Does this sounds idiotic and unbelievable to you? Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she is qualified to be President and 50% of democrats polled agreed. She has never run a city, county or state. When told Hillary Clinton has experience because she has 8 years in the white house, d!(k Morris stated "so has the pastry chef."

Except she's been a Senator of New York for eight years, studied law, and has an entire career of working in a political or legal capacity. From 1978 to 1992, she earned a higher salary than Bill. Her time as First Lady was also uncharacteristic of nearly every other First Lady in US history, as she was quite involved in policy during that time.

I'm sorry. And I'm not a supporter of Hilary, but although that was a *clever*-sounding analogy, it's woefully inadequate.

:yeah

Furthermore, pretty much every first lady has been involved in policy in one form or another. And I'm sure the president occasionally talks about the job with his spouse. I doubt the pastry chef can say the same thing.

Now you made me look up d!(k Morris..

I think you need to consider the source <_<

I haven't decided yet who to vote for, but this Billy C. seems to have been the best President we've ever had (based on Economics) in my lifetime..Maybe Hillary will let him play with it again.

Probably depends on whether the Pastry Chef was female and good with a Cigar. :corndance

Clinnt's economics were successful in large part due to the strength of the Reagan economy. Let's not forget that he saved us from the abysmal showing of the Jimmy Carter administration.

Really? Then how to explain the fact that the economy was tanking under the first Bush - who, let's remember, was President after Reagan but before Clinton. If Reagan's economy was so strong as to prop up Clinton's, why was the economy under the first Bush so abysmal?

Hence the Clinton tag line, "It's the economy, stupid."

When Clinton was president the economy was fantastic and people were making money hand over fist in the stock market. Things were cheaper.................it seems to me, and don't kill the me for this statement, that anytime a republican is president the economy goes straight to hell!!!! I'll take the sex scandals with a great economy anyday compared to this.............. <_<

It's important to keep in mind that the President does NOT control the economy. Think of the economy as a giant beast with all sorts of little cogs and influences that affect its direction. What any given president passes into this machine as economic policy is unlikely to affect it right away, and the nature of the economy is complex enough that it's typically unfair to pin an economy's success or failure on the president at the time.

Also, typically economists agree with the Republican model of reducing taxes and leaving corporations more free to spur the economy. FWIW.

Also, prices are *always* lower in years prior. Always...inflation. As long as it's in control, we're good....deflation is a problem.
