#1 schedule in the country? Ummm, apparently you haven't seen Georgia's schedule...or any team in the SEC for that matter.

The SEC will be strong this season, if it doesn't shoot itself in the foot. Same with the Big 12. I think they are very close in the number of strong teams in each conference.

I wouldn't say it's crazy at all to think that KU has the hardest schedule. The Big 12 is neck and neck with the SEC this year. Remember that Arkansas beat LSU (eventual NC) and MU destroyed Arkansas. I'm not intimidated by the SEC my friend.

I agree with Trev. Momentum is a giant slayer, not to say Va Tech or Mizzou are giants, and it really builds confidence not only in players but in the program as a whole. If we get the ball rolling early, good things will happen. A good example is to take a look at Kansas last year. They came out rolling early in their weak non-Conference games, scoring 214 points and allowing only 23. The confidence that it created within their team boiled over into conference play and also into the BCS game. Yeah they had the hiccup with Mizzou, but that just goes to show that Kansas isn't and never will be Nebraska!! GBR!!!

Ball State did make a bowl game you know. KU's first 4 games were CMU, SE Louisiana, Toledo, and that juggarnaut Florida International. Only 1 of those 4 played in a bowl. FI had a whopping 1-11 record last year. I believe the point to what he was saying is that your first 4 games were relatively weak with only 1 of your opponents making it to a bowl game. You got a lot of momentum going heading into Big 12 play where you didn't face OU or Texas. NU on the other hand played 4 bowl bound teams at the beginning of the season. Nevada made a bowl, Wake Forest made a bowl and finished in the top 30, USC made a bowl and finished #7 in the BCS, and Ball State made a bowl. Our nonconference was much tougher than KU's. The Wake Forest win was an ugly win that easily could have turned into a loss due to a late 4th qtr. turnover. USC completely stole any momentum whatsoever we had which resulted into a nailbighter with Ball State which we probably should have lost. There was so much hype about the #1 team coming into our house to play, and we fell completely on our face. IMO, our season would have been much better had we not played that USC game.

CMU made a bowl game too, almost beat Big 10's Purdue, yet they are weak? THey are one of the best teams in the MAC, a D-1 conference.... You played a better non conference, but CMU was good, their QB was Awesome and we shut him down...

Ummm, I did say that 1 of the 4 teams you played in the nonconference made a bowl which of course was CMU. You also played a team that one only 1 game the entire year. We shut Nevada down easily also, but I believe it was then undefeated and too highly ranked Boise State that went into overtime with them.

The point is KU built a lot of momentum last year with wins coming from a weak non-Conference schedule. If Nebraska wins all their non-conference games this year, they should have more momentum than KU did last year seeing as how they play a tougher non-conference schedule. Make sense?

The point is KU built a lot of momentum last year with wins coming from a weak non-Conference schedule. If Nebraska wins all their non-conference games this year, they should have more momentum than KU did last year seeing as how they play a tougher non-conference schedule. Make sense?

Sure you can build momentum from the non conference slate, but KU was in a lot different situation than NU. We didn't have to handle the transition of a new coach, and we had more starters back than your team this year has. You're basically starting from scratch with a new system and philosophy. Momentum can only take you so far. You have to have the palyers and an established system to win the conference games. It's premature for now.

The offense may be the same, but the philosophy will be different. Coach C won't have the ability to call plays or ruin anything, so with that said I think you'll improve. However, losing all of your receivers won't help. I think you guys return one starter. Ganz will be good and your o-line looks good on paper. I expect big things from Ganz this year if he can find the right combination with his new receivers. If the defense improves a little, then 7 wins is a strong possibility.

I'm one of the few people outside of Husker nation that thinks Nebraska will beat V-Tech.

Hate to admit this..But it seems like Colorado has been playing one of the toughest schedules the last few seasons.

First of all, we are going off rankings that are questionable, at best. How Ohio State is ahead of Oklahoma, USC, Georgia, Missouri, West Virginia, Auburn, and LSU is beyond me. Maybe it's that National Championship Ohio State won last year...oh wait, they lost. Well, then it's got to be the national championship they won in 2007...oh wait, they got manhandled in that game. Ugh. I'm so sick of Ohio State, their weak schedule, and then taking up one of the spots in the Championship game so they can lose. I don't root for USC, but on September 13th, I will be doing exactly that. I hope USC comes out and absolutely crushes Ohio State (like I think they will) by 3 TDs or so. But anyway...

I completely agree with your Ohio State gripe. I'm not happy about their ranking, however I would put them ahead of West Virginia, Auburn and LSU going into this season. But no way should Ohio State be in the top 3. They return a lot of starters, but they really haven't accomplished much.

Georgia does have a really hard schedule, but KU's is neck and neck. It's not head and shoulders better than KU's by any stretch. I like Athlon, but I'm pissed about where they have Florida-NO WAY the Florida GAYtors are the #1 team with 4 losses last year. What a load of crap!!!

Sounds like Ohio State is the new milenium's version of 72-97 Nebraska.

These were pretty much the same gripes others had about us..We played in the "Big-2/Little-6" and more times than not, lost in the Bowl game when we finally played someone.

And Florida probably won't finnish in the top 2-3 with their 2nd ranked schedule (Georgia's SOS is #6 btw)...But I can't think of more than one or two teams I'd bet on against them.

It would sure be fun to have their schedule after we get back on top.

this team has problems... receiver is not one of them. we return 2 guys with experience and have more talent at that position than we have had in quite some time. we have several guys who can step in and be very very good players right away... namely niles paul(ahman greens cousin)

Niles is still unproven until he sees signifigant time, but I do think he'll be good. But losing Purify and the other two you lost would hurt any team outside of USC. That's just reality.
