I was talking about him on a baseball site, and they were saying he really wasnt a football player he was just a kicker. wasnt he a standout RB in highschool? I remember our announcers going on and on about one of our kickers being such a good RB, I could have sworn it was him

He played K/P at Jamestown ND High School. He was a State Champion in 110 and 300 hurdles and a hockey player (36 Goals, 24 Assists) in 26 games. He was named AP's North Dakota Athlete of the Year 1992.

yeah I saw that in his bio online, but I am almost sure he also played a regular position on his HS team, an i want to say it was RB. I find it tough to believe that an athlete his caliber couldnt make the field for a ND high school. he played hockey so hes not scared of contact

I guess I should add I remember the announcers talking about one of our punters back in the 90's that was a great FB player that could have played RB at other school but was a better kicker

I was watching the 96' Fiesta Bowl the other day and the announcers were talking about our punter Jesse Koch (spelling?) They said that he ran for over 3,000 yds in highschool and could be like our 8th string RB. Maybe he is the one you are thinking about.

Anybody else see that "gift" late swing at ball-4 Erstad gave the Cubs pitcher for a no-hitter Sunday?

In all fairness, that looked like it was a sinker that tailed out of the zone. That is a tough pitch to lay off with a two strike count. It is those kind of nasty pitches that helped Zambrano get the no hitter....

You're probably right.

But when I 1st saw it on ESpn, I thought it looked intentional.

'Course..I probably never made it past 4 pitches in my life (Before I struck out).
